Hello all,

Well, it's happened. I've finally gotten so bored of LOTRO that I've stopped logging in. While I find the RP and community to be top notch, the game just doesn't impress me anymore, nor does Turbine. I found the Rise of Isengard "expansion" to be a let-down and it didn't keep my attention for too long.

Any of you guys jumped ship or considering it? I for one will be playing SW:TOR and Guild Wars 2 when they release. I just hope they won't be a let-down too.
Former LOTRO player, looking forward to Guild Wars 2.

Not I.  I shall be milking their resources for free for some time (until they abolish lifetime accounts).

Not giving up, but SW:TOR is bringing about an extensive break from playing actively.

I'm currently in a little hiatus. Not because of LotRO itself, but because my RL got too busy (impending move) and there are a bunch of other games I want to play around (Skyrim, Terraria, etc). When I'm done moving and I've settled at my new place, I'm sure I'll ponder about getting back to LotRO again. The RP community there is missing me. :P

Tolkien geek here. Are there games other than LOTRO? Surely this cannot be. :-)

There are text-only games based in the world of Tolkien, if that draws your fancy?

My current sub runs out next week and for the first time in 4+ years I will not be renewing it. Sad times but also I can't wait for SWTOR, I really enjoyed my brief glimpse of it during the recent beta weekend and am really looking forward to a fresh start with some new and old friends.

ive been reliving Shadows of Angmar in the new release LOTR: War in the North.

those dev pretty much lifted the entire story from Turbine.

you start out cleaning up Fornost and the big ole baddy is a witch-king and of course you end up in Carn Dum.

though they do stretch things alot with having you hang out with an Eagle.

as for jumping ship....nah...got a couple LTA's and plan to milk it as long as i can.

My Lovely Bride and I shall be taking our Duo adventures to Telara, rather than Middle Earth any longer. While I am sure she shall continue to log into LOTRO from time to time until her annual subscription runs out next June, and I shall continue to record segments for my show in LOTRO from time to time, we will only be actively be playing "Rift" from now on.

... until GW2 launches, at which point we'll be joining our old WoW guild in Tyria, as well as playing duo in "Rift".

This game any good overall?

I didn't buy because the idea of boycotting WB games was stuck in my mind more than I wanted to admit. But no reason to punish the developers of this game if they did a good job :)

I shall not leave Lotro completely, but I will be spending more time in SW:TOR for the next few weeks/months. We'll see how that goes....

but if you ever see it on sale id get it.

as far a middle earth games go it is decent for what it is and is a fun time waster.

Is it "consoly"? I ended up not making it into Skyrim because the console-ness with lack of controls, awkward movement and basically no advanced displays for anything killed it for me.

Well since I have 2 lifetime accounts I will not be leaving LotRO completely, as others have said I will be milking the lifetime sub as long as I can.  However, now for the first time in 4+ years of playing LotRO my time will be now split between it & another MMO Game which will be SWtoR ... since I will be playing all 8 classes for the sake of the storylines I can say with certainty that LotRO will be taking a backseat for a while.  :w
