It's strange they seem to listen to us if you see some of the improvememts, but manage to add 2 features (which I think are justifyable to ask money for, IF you've communicated that part of the deal directly) you have too pay for if you want to use them and loose the goodwill they could have gained with this update

Additional notes added to the latest build

Quote

Classes

Champion
The Champion skill Swift Blade is now affected by blade line modifiers instead of strike line modifiers.
Champions with Glorious Exchange active can no longer activate Exchange of Blows.

Minstrel
Melody of Battle, when used on others will now correctly add the full value of damage reflection and bonus parry rating.
The Westernesse Lute no longer adds to the Healing Power Cost requirements.
The Tier 7 flutes added with Isengard now correctly require Flute use.
Anthem of War will now provide a standard 5% boost to fellowship members affected by the minstrel buff.
The Minstrel self bubble from Story/Song of the Hammerhand has been reduced by a fair amount. It is still pretty darn good though.

Crafting
The majority of the crafting recipes that were removed from the Crafting vendors have been brought back, with the exception of Tier 6. Tier 6 recipes can be found in treasure drops.

Quests
(BULLROARER ONLY) Explained to Evendim NPCs that ignoring players was bad and must stop. They've agreed to once again bestow quests and do other NPC appropriate stuff.

I know I've been with LOTRO since the beginning, but I'm fairly new to Evendim questing.  What were the problems with NPC's there?

Known Issue: NPCs in Evendim have decided they are no longer interested in constantly answering questions and offering services and quests to players.  Instead of interacting with you they will simply stare at you with a slight look of displeasure on their faces until you go away.  (This is fixed in a newer build, we reminded them they are under contract.)

This Bullroarer-only-issue was fixed during maintenance today.

So, it was only a Bullroarer thing?  Got it.

By Player Request & Suggestion
Virtues have been extended to Rank 14.
Stat Tomes from Sturdy Steel Lockboxes: fix for old version that would allow you to use the same tier more than once (to no effect). New drops will only have tomes that are unusable if you have already used the same one in the past.
Stat Tomes and Relic Removal Scrolls: all tiers of stat tomes and the relic removal scroll can now drop from the final bosses in scaled instances.
All items that are restricted to a character class or a small selection of character classes have been removed from the lockboxes.
Melding recipes for the store exclusive relics can now be found in game on the Relic Forging Master.
Marks, Medallions, Seals, and Relic Currency are all now bind to account.
Worn Symbols of Celebrimbor are now available via Skirmish barter vendors.

Anyone feel really bad about the stat tomes and relic removal scrolls dropping from bosses?  I've been away from the game mostly, but I thought stat tomes ALREADY drop in instances.  Note, also, that they only drop in scaled instances, and from the final bosses.  Who wants to bet that the drop rate will be well under 1%?

Also, the store-exclusive relics can now be made in-game.  Huh.  Something tells me that this too will be extremely limited.  Turbine is nothing if not crafty (no pun intended).

I still don't get it. Do my existing characters get it or not?

I copied 5 (well, 4, since one failed) to BR, and tried it out. It applied to all of them.

The wording is  bad; I think is should be "this purchase is account wide, and applies to all characters, including any character that might be created in the future".

Not surprising, I think Turbine has long intentionally tried to make announcements as confusing as possible. Especially if it nets them a dollar. And especially if they can go back in a few months and make it seem as tho they totally said something different.

Turbine is, quite frankly, terrible at management of expectations. I suspect that has a lot to do with =who= they have managing those expectations....

Seriously? they actually had the unmitigated gall to take a Wallet upgrade and sell it on the LOTRO Store?

Wow. I seem to recall a long time ago on the LOTRO Forums where the then-upcoming Wallet was being discussed, and a Turbine rep said something to the effect of "More items will be added to the Wallet over time". But I'm sure even if I could find the post in question, it'll be expunged soon enough (if it hasn't been already).

(Note - Just searched for the thread in question, and it is gone. At least I haven't found it.)

Anyway, I know Turbine has done a lot of unsavory things over the last couple of years, but this just seems over-the-top to me. The Barter Wallet was meant to be a place to store barter items, and although it was limited in scope to start off, the clear indication from Turbine was that it would be expanded over time. Some people said that adding more items to the Wallet might not be very easy to accomplish, thus why it was taking so long to get them added, and to some degree they may have been right.

That said, when Turbine finally either got the ability to add all those barter items to the Barter Wallet or just decided now was the time to add it, they could have simply done what most expected and added them to the Barter Wallet without additional cost. They could have done that, but instead went the route of "Sell that functionality on the Store instead", which is frankly disgusting to me.

It's a Barter Wallet. One would expect that it should hold ALL barter items, not just some of them unless you pay an additional 995 TP surcharge. Selling additional shared storage on the LOTRO Store? Fine. Selling what should be standard functionality on the Store? Not the same thing, and most certainly not acceptable.

This is truly sickening. I am really disgusted by this move.

Personally I bet the biggest surprise is going to be the landscape soldiers. Want to bet in the new areas you'll NEED the soldier to be able to deal with the mobs - and now the have introduced a non-stop waay to have players spending TP, just to play the game.

Then, if it works well in the new area, expect to see all other areas of the landscape eventually adjusted to need the solider.

Turbine is no longer a respectable company - they have literally become a scum-sucking bunch of con artists. I have never witnessed such customer abuse in my life, but as long as people keep going for it they will keep pushing the envelope.

Maybe when it releases, all existing characters DON'T get the wallet, it's just new ones created from that day forward. Wouldn't that be something to see. Long term players slapped hard in the face, and then watch the fanboys still defend it. I don't understand why it would make that distinction either, unless it means exactly what it says. Boy, if that's how it works, the flack will be huge.
How did buying a lifetime account become a free ride, and an example of not supporting Turbine? That money left my pocket and they took it. Free it was not.

You would think... but then, look how much they already get away with.
