Stop and Go Lag

SoA may not have been completely bug free, but the game-breaking bugs were almost never encountered. In the few cases where game-breaking bugs did exist, the devs would push out a fix in a reasonable amount of time, and the GMs would step in to help.
Today, game-breaking bugs are met with silence from the devs, and "sorry, this is WAI" from the GMs.
Case in point, my housing port once bugged out and got my woodworker stuck neck deep in the landscape of the housing instance, unable to port out or be summoned (even /unstuck failed). Three tickets were submitted, the first two were closed with no answer, and the third was answered with "this is WAI". I was only ported out after doing a character copy to BR and asking a dev to see it firsthand.
During the Turbine/SoA days, events like this were unheard of. Under the WB banner, it's almost unheard of to not have a ticket insta-closed.

This is a perfect example of why the player base bares part of the responsibility. This isnt meant as a personal attack, I think you meant this partially in jest but no there opinion isnt the only one that counts. People who consume the product count more actually. Never lose sight of the fact that at the core this is transaction based. That transactions foundations are founded in supply and demand economics, someone is demanding the product and they are supplying it.
The demand side is the one who determines what definition "counts". Sadly there are few people who will admit that even though they dislike turbine they fund the game. Its a hard position to be in, on the one hand you want them to make good LOTR content, on the other you know every purchase you make is supporting a company whom you dislike.
The "end of the story" always lies with the person who chooses to open their wallet or not, that isnt turbine in this scenario.

I find that, where Turbine is concerned, optimism is a mayfly that lasts two seconds in the face of the blowtorch of experience.

I guess the discussion would then become what you consider broken and is there a universal accepted definition of it.
The context that was written in was somewhat self explanatory but the macro discussion was over what part of the game was broken. The poster I was replying to put forth that new content was his point of reference I was talking about the game in its entirety.
I never try to assume people mean something other then what they choose write while I am on the internet. No facial expressions, no body language and really the only thing to denote sarcasm or J/K is a smiley. As I have found over many years in this world of anonymity no one is ever wrong, ever. It’s truly amazing.
Tl;dr 2 points
1. Turbine doesn’t matter what matters is the consumption of the product. Why would they change anything if people continue to buy it?
2. I prefer a more subtle and cerebral form of trolling, one where only those of the highest trolling order can pick up on. Of course most will claim to understand, but they don’t (insert relevant smiley here)

asking the question...
"If you could ask a LOTRO dev one question, who would you ask and what would you ask them?"
There are 330 comments and after quickly scanning them there seem to be three common concerns:
Lag
Bugs
Housing
(Roughly in that order of frequency I think).
The last one is maybe a bit of a surprise, although I'd love a housing revamp and I've read other people saying so before.

Bah go away. Forum folks are not representing anything. Nobody wants housing.
Oh wait. That wasn't the forum.
BTW, picked up two nice infractions in the lag thread on the official forum. Can't tell which post (nuked). The Sap is getting touchy.

Nothing about the lag in there at all, maybe they are waiting to see if it works before saying 'we fixed it' this time....

I know they restarted the servers this morning but I’m seeing more threads and posts deleted on the lag issue. I’m baffled because I genuinely believe even the people who don’t like turbine like the game and want it to run well. The lag is a game breaker if you’re raiding or raiding in the moors. I was in GLFF on riddermark and witnessed 2 wardens chatting about not being able to get gambits off because of the spikes.
I haven’t rolled a warden so I don’t know what that entails but the lag is a very big issue if not number 1. So my lore master disappears for some skills… I can live with that I guess, I mean I don’t want to but its better then lagging out on a skill and having a raid wipe. I was in the moors and we were killing a CG in TA the raid leader was calling out “he’s at 30K” on my screen he was still in the low 90’s and 2 people come over the set to proclaim “I’ve got him at 125K”
I mean come on…

Not a pleasant experience all in all. Gave up and logged out for the night after that.
Wasn't the server restart supposed to help with some of the lag problems according to turbine?
