It was recently brought to my attention that I've accumulated a small handful of infractions. Thought I'd make a thread to share them with you and for others to share their own if they like.

Beware, mine are usually from the PvP threads. Used to get extremely heated on the Codemasters forums but they didn't mind. Removed links to make it less cluttered.

Name-calling/Insults
While participating on the Community Sites, you must respect the rights of others to participate in the community. To this end you may not harass, defraud, threaten or cause distress and/or unwanted attention to other members or Turbine staff. This includes, but is not limited to: Name-calling or other insults.(Community Guideline #1)

Comments:
"I don't need to. You suck so hard it's just common knowledge. Those sentences made no sense. At no point did me saying I'm going to kill your reaver change that I think this is just a game. Brains, use them. I really can't be bothered. If you want to go on pretending that you didn't get killed by me, go for it. Luckily, in reality where I live, this doesn't change that it did actually happen. So, man up or shut up."

Please go read the Community Guidelines for posting in this forum. Name-calling and insults are against CoC and Guidelines.
This one was a multi-quote thing so it made sense in context.

Discussing Disciplinary/Moderation Action
We do not publicly discuss moderation decisions, or disciplinary actions taken against members, on the Community Sites and we ask that you do not either. Any threads or posts that mention infractions, bans, or thread/post deletions or modifications, etc. are subject to removal and may result in further disciplinary action.(Community Guideline #19 - Minor)

Comments:
"Since someone was stupid enough to have my last post deleted, I'll repeat..."
---
Actually, you got your last post deleted yourself, by attacking other users with part of it. This one was deleted for a) reposting a previously deleted post, B) discussing the deletion publicly and/or c) calling others "stupid". You can take your pick. I suggest you review the Community Guidelines before posting again.
Don't remember what I had said that was so bad but I can remember that I thought it wasn't bad enough for me to have had it deleted, hence the repost.

Comments:
"I can already tell you're a fanboy and would say please and thank you while Turbine charge you extra, just because you love it."

Again, Dorothir, please do not attack others for disagreeing with you. We have sent you multiple infractions on this, and I'd rather not send you another one. Most of your posts are fine, but it's posts like these that are crossing the line.

This will be your 3rd infraction. Please do not do this again in the future.

Thank you very much in advance.
I think this one was something about an idea for more free TP to Lifers and one Lifer said he was completely against it because he was happy with what he had.

"Clearly you do not see a difference between fighting at 1v1 and having people let you win. I doubt even if the difference was explained, you would still fail to understand. Not surprising, to be honest, what with having the brain of a turnip (and the skill to match)."

I do have a whole mess of warnings but I think that would be too much.

Also, this thread isn't for making pity posts. It's just to share what you've been slapped on the wrist for.

I would wear the one about fanboys as a badge of honor. No customer is going to disagree with getting more for the same amount of money, that much is super obvious to anyone with a functioning prefrontal cortex. Only an employee of the company would even attempt to disagree with that, and I bet some of them would secretly agree with you. It's straight on consumer logic, and can't truly be argued, even in marketing or economics classes where the whole world knows that everyone really wants to get more but pay less, but when you are twisting the message to say the company line, nothing is too far fetched. {Companies always have the reverse, they want to do less but get paid more]

In fact, calling them out as you did is simply being honest and calling a spade a spade (or shill). But then, bringing too much attention to employees of Turbine is against policy. I got caught on this one, for pretty much the same reason you did. It was as obvious to me as it was to you. But Turbine is not about to let it slide when you catch them shilling on their forums. Also, logic has no place on forums. :)

I find it funny that trash talk is a no no on the forum, but in game, it goes on all the time. And it's usually a lot worse.  Though it's nothing like AoC. There is no polite way to tell someone you think they are clueless and have no talent.
How did buying a lifetime account become a free ride, and an example of not supporting Turbine? That money left my pocket and they took it. Free it was not.

I wish I could quote an infraction I've had, but I don't have any on the LOTRO Forums. Didn't stop them from putting me in permanent "Moderator Review" status, though, with Sapience (asked at Celestrata's suggestion) refusing to tell me why. I'm guessing between my posts here, my comments on my podcast, and the articles I've written about LOTRO on my website, they consider that all enough to silence me permanently on their forums.

This may be from when someone posted in Gen. PvP forums that someone used  the Uruk ./rude emote on his dead wife and that it should be removed because it was simulated rape and was disrespectful of women ( I guess it fine when done to a man then.) I replied with OMFG!! Get a life, carebear.

All mine are PvP related, what can I say, I'm a troll :) I'm sure there were more, some were warnings so maybe they go away after awhile. I still have a respectable reputation.

Doro, to be honest, those infractions are your own fault, since we all should know by now how strict they are;

Saying "fanboy" is standard an infraction, i wouldn't even be surprised if they have a filter which highlights all posts with something like fan-boy in it, because they see it as name-calling

I didn't say they weren't my own fault. The only one I didn't think was worthy of an infraction was the fanboy one (that was made just before the mods decided fanboy was offensive, so I had no idea the level of evil they'd put it at later on). The rest I don't really care about. If they want to be petty and tell the teacher, they can do.

Nah. That would require writing working stuff for their forum. Not gonna happen.

That's a straight copy and paste.  The first word is "Expired:" when viewing it under My Profile Settings.

That's odd, I was told infractions don't expire, from the Sap himself. Warnings do, but not infractions. That's why they can hold them over your head, even after years have gone by. It's like serving time in jail, but never getting credit for it.

Having had no infractions, I wouldn't know how to view them, but I'm sure I've received a warning or 2 on my old beta account that I used for F2P beta over there, as well as SoA beta.

Banned, so can't really copy and paste them.

I know my early ones were actually pretty bad. That was when Ramen was one of the CMs. He took pity on me and let me get better about it. Then Sapience rolled along. The rest is history.

I believe his defining infraction that perma'd me (the first time) was a conversation I was having with someone who thought Mines of Moria was perfect. I told him he "need[ed] to stop living in la-la land and come back down to planet earth with the rest of us sane people". That was it, boom, perma ban. Although, at the time, I had told Sapience off in PMs a couple of days before when he first gave me an infraction saying that I knew who he was and I remember the stunts he pulled at Hellgate: London and that I wouldn't fall to his rule here either.

Sure enough I didn't. After the Floon fiasco on my second redemption try, I just asked for it by circumventing the censor filter and cursed out trancejeremy, a troll older than dirt who has spread falsities about LotRO for God knows how long. He would claim one thing on the GameFAQs board for LotRO and then claim a completely different other thing and I just figured, sure, why not, why not do a suicide post by calling out Two-Face for what he is.

At least nowadays I know he's no longer paying a subscription just to troll it up on the boards. Guy would claim once every month on the forums that the game was impossible to play, too hard, didn't have enough leveling content, etc. Sort of worth it (all the more so because I knew it was only a matter of time before Floon tugged at Sapience's leash to bring down the hammer on me).

There's only a couple of people in the industry I wish the plague on. Floon is one of them. Bill Roper is another. Ivan Sulic is more of a mercy one, for the good of all humanity.

From the comunity guidelines:

Violation of the above guidelines may result in warnings or infraction points assigned to your account.

Infraction points are both permanent and cumulative, although many infractions will automatically expire from “Active” status. The number of infraction points issued may vary according to the severity of the incident. Please note: Warnings are not counted against your maximum infraction limit.

Temporary and permanent bans will be automatically issued by the Infraction system when your account reaches the following thresholds:
•10 Active points: 1 day
•15 Active points: 3 days
•20 Active points:  Permanent
•A total of 2 infractions* (Free accounts): Permanent
•A total of 10 infractions* (Premium or VIP accounts): Permanent
The Community Team reserves the right to assign temporary and permanent bans at will based upon the severity of an infraction.

* Automatic bans based on the number of infractions take all infractions into account, regardless of their Active or Expired status. If an account was above the limit when this change was implemented (August 2010) it will be banned if any further infractions are issued against it.

All visitors to the Community Sites are logged by IP address. We may occasionally ban a user by their IP address. Further abuse by users who have been IP banned may result in an abuse report to the user's internet service provider.

If your Community account has been banned and you feel this ban is in error, ban appeals may be sent through http://support.turbine.com. (Choose the solution center for LOTRO.) Please include your Community account name in all correspondence.

The Turbine Community Team strives to foster the community by bringing you up to date information and administering the Community Sites with fair, impartial moderation.

I'm quite sure I have close to if not over 10 infractions, but since I mainly post on my servers PvP forums I remain unnoticed by The Sap. Just goes to show that its not what you say, or how you say it, it's who you say it to! :)

Well my experience with infractions continues to be different. Haven't gotten an infraction since the initial f2p battles where Sapience didn't like me pointing out that the Überpotions might be - well - Über.

I also had another unjustified neg rep reverted just a couple minutes ago.
