I know if I were a player who had never or very little used the forums for anything and then suddenly had an issue come up where I felt the forums might suffice and went there and was treated like that OP with the high "miss" results when fighting...I might not feel the community were helpful. And if it seemed like that type of response was encouraged or tolerated, it might be a strong enough reason to not play the game any longer. Especially if I looked elsewhere in the forums and seen threads closed due to it being negativeness about 'the store' or whatever else people are being negative about.

It's likely, but have you considered the possibility that ...

The whole customer/developer relationship is dysfunctional anyway. We get the abuse, but keep paying, because they give us candy. Even when the candy tastes bad, we hope the next piece will taste better, or at least wipe the bad taste away. But do we ever decide that the candy isn't worth the abuse? For most people, it would seem no, it's not. Don't care if you get the treatment, as long as you can suck your lollipop.

[What an ugly picture]
How did buying a lifetime account become a free ride, and an example of not supporting Turbine? That money left my pocket and they took it. Free it was not.

Here's another gem. People pay for VIP, ie, they pay sub fees, or purchased a whole bunch of sub fees in advance. So they most definitely paid for upgrades and maintenance, they aren't in any way shape or form free, contrary to what this log bump claims as 'no additional cost'. I'd go as far as to claim that they should have received the wallet 'fix' as a part of that VIP package anyway, and a la carte the premium and f2p accounts as they should. And didn't everyone get those areas anyway, only having to buy quests?

Does he ever think things through before he posts them?

I'll never understand that game. If you become a darkside Jedi, doesn't that mean you're a Sith?

Well, it should, but then again, you can be a lightside Sith! (Not that I would go that route)

My Bounty Hunter, while not a Sith, is completely lightside, only way to keep Mako happy :P And my thoroughly darkside Sith Assassin has a Jedi companion that she is turning to the darkside (turning her in other ways as soon as they patch in same sex romance :))

What I would like to see is appearance changes for lightside, start glowing or something. A lot of people in the PvP community think faction should be based on lightside/darkside/neutral. That would make 3 factions and help with faction imbalances, and you could change your faction without rerolling.

Not to reopen the thread, but somebody just made a better version of Klout, called "Klouchebag". Rather than measuring your influence on the Internet, Klouchebag measures how much of a douchebag you are on Twitter. So naturally, after checking my Klouchebag score, I had to look at ol' Ricky's score. See below:

The MMO Troll's Klouchebag: 7 - A nice person http://klouchebag.com/#themmotroll
Rick Heaton's Klouchebag: 34 - A bit of a prat http://klouchebag.com/#rickheaton

The point he makes in the FAQ does have some merit.

But... but my Klout score is important!

No it's not. It's like search engine optimisation, only for yourself. Ignore it. Concentrate on making amazing things, caring about the people around you, and not being a <edit>. If you do that, then you'll soon realise that the number some algorithm made up about you doesn't matter one jot.

I hope Ricky sees some wisdom in that someday.  Time will tell.

Nose looks like it's been broken... Now who would have done that? Apart from, obviously, an amateur, since they didn't do a proper job of it... {evil grin}
