The Heydts say this alot. The thing is, they never give the numbers to back that sort of statement up for any other activity than PvP.
They both have admitted that they would like to see PvMP completely removed from the game. They don't care about intrusion on to their own game, they only care about the fact that others can do it. It's really no different than "raiders get better gear than level five role-players, so Turbine should remove armor from raids".

As for the funding argument, WHH gives absolute support to the emote toggle, despite the fact that it arguably has fewer supporters than PvMP. Also, by his own admission, it would bring in minimal income for Turbine (unlike a new PvMP map, new classes, paid traits/skills/etc). He is literally arguing against profit-bearing projects in one thread, then arguing for net-loss projects in the next.

But getting back on topic:

Any variation of "it is far easier to get <stuff> after <nerf>."

"You didn't get <store-exclusive stuff> it for free, you paid for it with your subscription."

"If you can log in, you can't complain about the bugs."

"Turbine points are free for everyone."

Ohlook .. 4 more...

I have, however, been on the development side of the fence and know when people are being rather obstinate over what happens.
"You've been lagging for months, you're not a programmer so you have no right to be pissed about it because you don't know what's making it happen.  I don't care if you're a paying customer, you don't have the right to complain.. in fact... SAAAAAAAAAAAAAPIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENCE!!!"

"Or I am smart enough to know when people won't budge from their naive views and don't waste my time."
If you don't love and trust Turbine you're naive.

As far as being wrong, while that does happen, it's rare when it comes to what you're trying to insinuate.
"I used a word that contains more than 3 syllables... you're wrong and still naive"

But whatever floats your boat.
"I'm superior, so superior in fact that I'll let you continue being wrong and naive out of the kindness of my ever-benevolent heart"

The whheydts are a 70 year old couple who has nothing better to do than piss off their neighbors. They probably live in the woods away from everyone and found the internet has a place to annoy others.

They don't group, know nothing about the toons they play (Whh has 9 hunters or so, none over 1000 agility; Dj has a lm and mini both with 600 will. Yes, lvl 75), never stepped in the moors and are just not really nice ppl...

Khafar at least puts some thought and knowledge to his "fanboiysm".

love this one, the OP is obviously frustrated with the lag problems (he could probably have voiced that better!) and the first few answers are the fan boys with there "no lag here", "must be your ISP" and other crap. lotro is one of the laggiest (is that a word?) MMOs I have ever played, especially recently, yet you still see the fan boys in force quick to shout down anyone who dares to complain about it.

I recently saw a thread about someone asking to have a way to see mail at the character selection screen. One of the Heydts (both the same, really, so it doesn't matter which) said they'd like an ability to see the in-game time of day at the character selection screen, to help compensate for their failing vision.

Unfortunately, my responses are still to be permitted, thanks to the ineptitude of the mods, but I posted that I didn't want to waste dev focus and cash on a feature that wouldn't make any money and that only a small minority would want... stinks of irony in here :P

Yeah, pointing to the 500 "free" turbine points for VIPs is actually the most annoying item, I agree. The fanbois omit the fact that you can spend them only once, plain and simple.

It buys you pretty much nothing given how high priced anything in the store is.  If you play at a slow pace you can over time use them to accumulate one line of items, such as decent storage over 1-2 years.  But that doesn't change the fact that the "free" TPs do not make a dent in the problem that VIPs/subscribers only get a fraction of the game now.

And of course you can only spend them on one thing: quest packs for new regions OR storage OR removal scrolls OR cosmetics.  All the stuff excluded from people who pay monthly subscriber fees.

Turbine and Fanboys alike are obsessed with the idea that everyone else is either making things up or the lag is their fault. Regardless of all the times people have said that lag happens to everyone in a raid at the same time, in different countries too, the fanboys will say it's our computers or it's our connection. Either they're intentionally ignoring everyone telling them otherwise or they really are just thick as a glacier in an ice age.

You're not the only one that has been on the 'development side of things'.

Naive views and insinuations? This is exactly why I said stick with the facts and you stop posting,

Guys, keep it nice and don't attack on the person. In fact, I'd appreciate it when you would stop pointing fingers at names, even if it is 'on the other forum'. This becomes bashing altogether too quick and I'll then have to close this thread. Thanks for listening.

From http://forums.lotro....sion-quot/page2

'$40 will get you more entertainment than another game for the same price!'

I already saw two problems with this.

The first was that it doesn't matter how much 'entertainment' that RoR will give us compared to other games, what matters is how much is being asked for less 'entertainment' than previous expansions at lower costs. They keep saying things like 'hours of game time' but forgetting that most of that will be grinding dailies. That isn't entertainment unless you have major OCD and a fetish for repetition.

The second problem was that I bought Skyrim for £20 ($31), Minecraft for £9 ($14), Garry's Mod and Counter-strike Source for £15 ($24), all of these games have given me hours of play time (I got Garry's mode and Counter-strike about 5 years ago and I still play them often) and all are cheaper than what RoR would cost me at £30 ($45) including VAT. I'd even get bored of it in the first couple of weeks, just as I did with RoI. I only play LotRO now for the damn PvP and that costs me nothing!

And another thing: Trion hasn't announced the prices for "Rift: Storm Legion" yet, but it will include "Rift" with its purchase (for those who don't already have the game, much like MoM gave you LOTRO included), and apparently there may be a discount on "Storm Legion" for those who already own "Rift". Probably for Digital orders only, but it is something.

Easy now, guys. We can use logic and reason to destroy what they say, we don't need to attack them personally... too much :P

This guys attitude just pisses me off. He doesn't like PvP.....so don't do it, no ones making you, but don't advocate for its removal just because you don't like it. I don't like festivals or RP, but I don't advocate their removal. I just don't do it and stay away from areas where its practiced, its not complicated. But no, he has to post on the PvP forums as well as every other effing forums, he's an out and out troll IMO.

Thing is, lots of anti-PvPers tends to enter threads that mention opening up PvP. Fair enough, there's already multiple reasons why opening up PvP for the whole of Middle-earth is a bad idea and won't happen. The problems arise when someone has given a legitimate idea that would allow variety in PvP (i.e. an opt in PvP layer that changes to a different zone every so often) and still won't force it on PvEers, they STILL feel the need to come in and say how they don't want funds 'wasted' on such an idea and that they want the PvP removed. Exceptionally selfish. I imagine if I pushed everything they liked into a small area and told them to deal with it for 5 years, they'd be asking for changes too.
