"Hi guys, I'm Rick Heaton. I'm a c***" Warning: use of violence. Unfortunately not against Li'l Ricky. Campbell looks & sounds like a total geek (clueless). And he's responding to a question that says "hey, can understand hunters being able to shoot from horseback" With a longbow. Right. Twat! (Yes, I know it's only a game, and the mechanics are bodged. Nevertheless).

"You have to watch what you're doing over here" So other bits are EZ-mode? Natch. They expect you to be brain-dead.

Looks crap. And I wasn't talking about Ricky!

I find that, where Turbine is concerned, optimism is a mayfly that lasts two seconds in the face of the blowtorch of experience.

Well that looks a lot less interesting than they made it out to be. I doubt this new feature is enough to bring me back to LotRO (I would say I've quit but since I have a Lifetime account and I'm already on forum moderation, I'm concerned as to what the spies at Turbine would to me instead for daring to say I don't play anymore like MMO Troll). It's a sad thing to find, really. The one major feature of this quest pack- err, sorry I mean expansion and already it looks pretty naff. Pretty much just increased run speed, changed skills and all mobs are constantly running so I get to play chase the mob every single fight.

Though I did laugh at how out of breath Thick Heaton was getting just asking questions. 'What about a minstrel? What's it like to heal on horse back? *struggling to breath*'

I'll be watching the forums with interest to see what people will say about this.

To me, it looks really freaking boring.  It seems far too much effort to kill a single mob.  Why on earth would I want to run past it and hit and have to turn around to run past it and hit it again?  And look at that huge landmass that's 3 times the size of Moria!  That big, empty landmass with mobs spaced far apart.

Any tidbits we've been getting have left me feeling completely meh about this "expansion".  I find it sad I'm doubting whether I'll be playing Lotro come September... not that I'm playing much now.  I just log in for raids as my alliance wants to get all the fights and challenges completed.

I can imagine every classes skills on horseback except Burglars. WTF am I going to be doing? Does my mount stealth? This combat mechanic doesn't mesh with Burg skills at ALL!!! Stupidiest combat system ever.

The one thing I'm not doing any more is listening to Producers of LOTRO and taking them at face value. I always said, for me, purchasing this "expansion" depends on whether I get into beta or not and I actually feel from playing that it's worth it.

*Scratches head* People complained about Dunland or Great River (don't recall) not being big enough. Weren't the fanboys saying along the line of 'well, what do you all that empty space for?!'. Now the exact thing is achieved with Rohan (lots of space!). I wonder what they're going to say next, honestly. :D

But I have to admit that the video isn't really interesting overall. (Might be more interesting for me if they had subtitles.. :P)

wow what a underwhelming experience, I honestly thought they might have something good with the mounted combat arc but that just looks so boring and way to fast, rohan might be huge but traveling at warp factor 9 will make it very small.

Another epic fail from Turbine imo.

True. I think most people who want big empty landmass were really asking for it in places we know we'll never get otherwise. Zones in Eriador and west of Enedwaith/Dunland, for example. Having it in an expansion (and an overpriced, void of content expansion) wasn't really what I had in mind.

Basically, wide open spaces as free little additions along with usual content updates = good. Wide open spaces in an expansion that's already pretty lacking = bad.

Does Sapience have any idea what the age group of his audience is? He sounds like he's narrating Pee wee's Playhouse, not conducting an interview for an MMO...

That sounds so very lame. So lame that I even threw up just a little bit. Imagination is all well and good but a game is just so much better! If I could get one wish (a wish limited to only 'what game do you want to exist?'), I'd look for a game like Skyrim but set in Middle-earth... the whole of Middle-earth.

Pretty much what I was thinking too... this is just as amateurish as those advertisements with the lousy actors.
And rick isn't surprising at all... he's just bad, as he always was. Hello, I'm the fat guy in the video but I have some importance since I manage the community of your favorite video game, so listen to me.
When I go back to watch interviews of Patience, this makes me want to cry. Really.

Don't knock it until you've tried it.  Between me and a few friends, we blew Turbine's storylines out of the water with pen-and-paper, and we went far beyond Turbine's/ME Enterprises' boundaries.

You need to understand Doro has the attention span of a 5 year old in a toy supermarket :) I agree however p&p blows most computer games away storyline wise if done correctly.
