Considering this is virgin ground I thought I'd trample it a bit with an old classic.

What armour do you use?

I have Moria Head/Chest/Legs/Gloves and Mirkwood Shoulders/Boots (not BG) for my basic set up.

I've heard that BG Chest/Legs/Gloves/Shoulder/Boots and Arthar from DN are another main set for people but I've never had the luxury of any BG pieces to test it myself.

I use 4 moria parts.

Brestplate, leggings, gloves and boots.

With two hele peices hele and shoulders.

I would love to have the tier TWO armour from the raid as it gives the same fouth set bonuses ( + 19 vit and agil )

and the armour is an upgrade for the moria peices IF I could ever get them......

But that's my set up and so far it's worked perfectly for me as I have no interest in DN or BG set for champs :)

PS just signed up her from what will be the old europe forum :)

My Champion wears the Moria chest, legs, gloves and helmet (Watcher). They also wear the Mirkwood boots and shoulders.

To be honest, i got no idea what i'm exactly wearing at this moment with my champ (and yh, it's my main ;) ); It's a combination of moria, DN and some other pieces i guess; Wearing the gold leggings from the book quest now;

I never worry about gear. Min / maxing doesn't interest me, and I've had to put up with people who think they're uber but can't actually play. The best gear in the world won't save you (or your group) if you don't know what you're doing. I like people who know how to play their class. Preferably several ways to play their class, to suit different scenarios... ;)
Good players adapt, bad players whinge; which are you?

I find that, where Turbine is concerned, optimism is a mayfly that lasts two seconds in the face of the blowtorch of experience.

don't be silly, Raed, we both know we're just there to kill stuff ;)

On-topic:
I'm wearing 4Moria/2Mirkwood as well, mainly because of the point made by Raed. The only reason for me to gather any other bits was the old Radiance requirement, but with that gone, I've gone back to cooky cutter setup. Mind you, if I'd still actively play my champ, I'd probably play about with some proc gear, but so far I see no reason to swap.

lol mine doesn't have any sets yet but when I do go for it it's probably going to be the Hele set.

honestly though, anything with a lot of might on it or associated with it is champ love for me :-)
Vanyar characters: Caereth (65, Elf, RK), Kaeriel (65, Elf, Tank), Cenriel (65, Woman, Minstrel) (plus a whole lot of little twinkies :-) )

Hele looks like an okay set. But after removal of Radiance (may it ever stay away, boo!) I'm even more in favour of Moria + a few pieces of other sets.

I'm thinking of the most ideal champion build for tanking situations where you need a shield, and for an instance/raid full sustained DPS build;

In making the perfect builds i will assume all gear/jewelry/settings/etc are available to me;

Since it's a group situation, i will also assume i have some buffs available to me, like iDoME;

But to do this, I could use some help

I'll first focus on the DPS-build;
Goals
Maximum DPS output, this also means we will have aggro on adds, so having enough morale isn't a big problem ;)
Stats: Having might, agility and vitality at 600 (so with buffs 650)
Ratings: Having at least 15% crit rating, a little higher isn't a problem, since most mobs in instances are also above lvl
Having Melee offence at max %
Having as high as possible morale
Having a nice amount of melee defence

Since my champion is a dwarf my basic stats will be:
M:  107
A:   75
V:   69
W:   58
F:   73
M: 2236
P: 1185

I want to have a first 'perfect build' idea available somewhere this evening (depends on if we raid with my kin) so all suggestions on gear and jewelry are welcome :)

Edit: Just found this https://spreadsheets...EE&hl=en#gid=14 so this made my post a little useless i guess :P

Just Wear the Helm that drops from Istum in DN:

http://lorebook.lotr...i/Armour:Arthar

The +25% Dev magnitude buff (which you get often) is a very nice addition to your build.

Right; from my first post I've now got a new set up !!!!

I got myself the helm from the watcher ( moria helm )

My new set up is ....

Moria Helm,Brestplate,Leggings and Boots.

Hele Gloves and shoulders.

And so far with my jewllery ( just need DN peices now ) my stat's stand at

650 Might,630 Agility and 620 Vitality

With incoming healing 18.9 % (max 19% without cappy etc buffs, people thought it was 20% but it's been proven wrong)

and Melee offence at a massive 9.080 K!

and Morale and power at ---- Morale = 7.490 K
                             Power  = 2.460 K

All unbuffed.

With buffs I 100% get over 9.2 K morale, Offence at 10K or just under and all three major stat's maxed :)

??? The max incoming healing you can get without buffs is 20%. It caps at 15% and Men get an extra 5%. 15+5=20%.

That is not true as my kin did a test before this, I put on two runes on my weapon and rune ( + 1.5K incoming healing ) and it wouldn't go any higher that 19% when if it was true it would have been near 30 % if it didn't have any limit.

The cap is 15%. My champion is a Man, and I've had it at 20% without any buffs. What was your incoming healing rating when you did this test?

What do you mean the cap is 15 % ?

and number? close to 5 K when I did the test and it wouldn't move from 19%.

Same goes for 4 other 65 champ's in my Kin.

I mean that the highest bonus you can get from incoming healing rating is 15%. I assume your champ is a man (if that picture is your champ). In that case, 5k incoming healing rating is over the amount needed for 15% (~4550), so you should have had +20% incoming healing. Are you sure you didn't have any other buffs/debuffs?

Sorry if I don't believe you, but any time I've tested it, and everything else I've ever seen says that the cap is 15%.

I'm with you on this. My man champ used to always hit 20% incoming healing.
