Who is Composer now for Lotro ?

8 posts in this topic

We already know Chance Thomas is most likely not returning to compose and now it seems even Turbines audio director and composer Stephen DiGregorio has left after completion of the helms deep soundtrack.

And also i know in the past at least during Shadows of Angmar Other composers include Geoff Scott, Brad Spears, and Egan Budd.

So i am wondering who is composer now?

Isn't the current rumor that Chance Thomas is in fact coming back for the Mordor Expansion?  Not that it matters much, but...

I sure someone on staff knows how to use a synthesizer.

We'll be killing orcs to a mad bossa-nova beat!

Here's a list of LOTRO composers past and present:

The QA guy who posted this (Darth Celtics) also composes and synthesizes the odd track or two (told about it on the anniversary stream).

I've been doing a few of the anniversary scavenger hunts, and going back to some of the areas with that gawd-awful music was one of those trips down memory lane where you feel really happy you've moved on.

Most of the Helm's Deep expansion, and the early Gondor areas like Dol Amroth are some of the worst music in the game IMO.

For me there's a big improvement in Minas Tirith.

I don't know why they did that countdown of Chance Thomas music, implied that there would be an announcement coming up that was connected, and then never followed up on it at all.

I wondered about that, too. My guess is that lawyers or accountants are involved and they couldn't make the announcement as soon as they had hoped.

Helm's Deep was ATROCIOUS. DiGrigerio is is so laughably bad I attribute much of my 3 years spent getting through 85-95 to his awful production.

Still, I think credit is deserved where it is due.  Lamedon's sound piece
