Now that I've had a fair time to play around with my hunters (one Hunstman, one Trapper), I've got to say that not much has changed for me.

I had heard the various laments, in-game and out-of-game, that hunters would no longer be able to DPS.  However, I'm not seeing a discernable difference.  Granted, I haven't tried to measure damage against a Rune-keeper or Champion, but, then again, I'm generally not the type to try to compete for DPS against those classes (mainly because too much aggro in a fellowship tends to lead to more monsters interrupting my shots).

As far as speed goes, I don't notice any real difference in induction speed.  For a while, I thought that my Find the Path speed had gone up with RoI, but asking around confirmed that to be wishful thinking on my part.

Power usage continues to be at a low, even with the removal of the ICPR set bonus that the Trapper trait set used to have (Looks like they gave a reduced power cost under the Heightened Senses trait instead.).

The focus-generating ability of the Precision stance is nice; my Trapper likes being able to run with a constant state of focus (They'll probably nerf it. :( )

Hunter's Art is interesting.  I believe that those hunters in raids and instance, who have need of a bit more finesse, will elect to use this skill in Precision stance, while switching to Endurance stance to save power using the skill.

Split Shot is handy as an extra multi-target attack, but the pause just before the shot just bugs me.  It reminds me of the wait for Swift Shot to induct back in the beginnings of LOTRO (I'm sure several of you remember that.)

Overall, where one thing got taken, another thing took its place.  So, I'll keep aiming. :)

Primarily, banning is almost always a last resort. It usually takes a willful act (indeed a series of them) on the part of the party being removed from the community to get banned. i started a new hunter a few days before ROI came out as i dont want to be anywhere near the new areas until patch1.

this is my 4th hunter and i must say at low levels i feel more powerful then last time i leveled a hunter.

biggest change for me melee being as strong as ranged dmg and being able to wear med armour and dual-wield right off.

i have no qualms about pulling mulitple mobs as the first one will be dead before the get to me and the 2nd or 3rd one is as easily dispatched with my twin daggers of death.

Same for me. I'm currently in the Darn Durn (sp?) epic quest, very tough at level 47 solo. I tried a few times before RoI and a few times after. Not much different at all.

My experience also confirms that things looks more or less the same. I haven't noticed any significant change in my abilities. I manage to kill as solo, up to six dunendlings by using my skills without being killed which more or less was the case prior the RoI launch. Split shot was indeed handy in some occasions but further testing is needed.
Still need to verify though if my aggro has changed while in a fellowship.
Previously used tactics were quite ballanced managing to avoid most of the time generating aggro.

The only thing that still throws me off is that Merciful Strikes is now "smart" enough to be greyed out if the mob is too healthy. Previously the status was simply whether you have enough focus or not. I preferred it the old way.

my experience (i rolled a new hunter just before RoI) is that hunters are far less squishy and far more deadly at low levels then before.
i believe this has alot to do with getting med armour and dw right off along with making melee damage the same as ranged.

I observe a very high number of evade animations. Seems to be the major change to combat to me. I don't recall what my evade number was before the patch.

To be honest I can't tell for sure if this is the case. I think the 'hardiness' of the hunter is older than RoI.

My hunter was rolled 4 years ago but I think this is the case since the initial raise of lvl cap. I am playing a hunter since day one and peril during the early levels is not as high as it used to be.

I remember that my first 'death' occurred while I was in Archet at level 7 by 2 wolves. After that it was almost a tradition to die every other day :)

when Mirkwood was due to release, TB send me a BL invitation with a forum account I had with them there, and naturally i rolled a hunter in order to have a glimpse of the old forest. My hunter reached lvl 13 without problem. ( then I visited the tavern :P )

Just before the take over by TB of the EU servers, I rolled a hunter on Landroval while I was waiting for my world to come up, and manage to reach lvl 20 without a single defeat which as I said during the early days that would be almost impossible.
