"If someone who always supports a position is a shill , does that mean someone who refutes it constantly is a shill for the opposition?" - Sapience (@rickheaton), a shill
"Pssst, people who think they're being sooper sekret.... I see you! :)" - Sapience (@rickheaton), waxing paranoid
"Hate to ruin a perfectly good conspiracy theory, but I never worked on Hellgate. Sorry folks." - Sapience (@rickheaton), former associate of Ping0
"One last thing I'd like to mention is that there seem to be some former members of the community who have decided to add to the concerns and issues surrounding the transition by misrepresenting some facts. Primarily, banning is almost always a last resort. It usually takes a willful act (indeed a series of them) on the part of the party being removed from the community to get banned. Multiple warnings, infractions, and appeals are usually involved. Often times warnings are informal and sent via PM or a simple post asking those involved to change the subject, refrain from posting certain topics, etc." - Sapience, LOTRO Forum Topic Clarification Needed On Profanity Community Guideline
"I may never leave work. Tornados keep popping up between me and home." - Sapience (@rickheaton), with a poor understanding of justice
"... this *is* Sapience we're talking about, he's a big, mean....****Bzzzzzztttt****cli ck****Account Deleted...****" - Arbalister, Sapience's fanboy, in a moment of rare insight.
"It's not what you say, it's how you choose to say it." - Sapience, LOTRO CSM
"It is not what you say that matters, but the manner in which you say it ..." - William Carlos Williams, avowed socialist

Now I know how the elves feel. All the magic is leaving Middle Earth.
I'm right 97% of the time. Who cares about the other 4%?

If free accounts can post in the general forum it might be a idea to go through a proxy server to hide your ip create a new account and post the link with a quote of the entire review.

Unfortunately, last time I checked, Free accounts have a waiting period befor they can post on the main forums.
It seems to be something like a couple of weeks or more iirc. I would use one of my test accounts but if they search
the ip logs, they can probably put 2 and 2 together. I wouldn't want to risk my main accounts being put under the
watchful EYE-of-Ricky.

Their last expansion was. Who is going to pay cash for anything after RoI?
As I've said before, T's only hope is that GW2 is very late & doesn't match the press releases. They might get the the former; I think the latter will hammer them regardless.
I find that, where Turbine is concerned, optimism is a mayfly that lasts two seconds in the face of the blowtorch of experience.

I think they have a fair start at Rohan and can make a profit on it if it's sized like ROI, but doing so will likely kill the game.

He should ditch this angle of attack for being a little bit childish, as if in the holidays of 2008 his parents gave him 10 gifts, so only five gifts this year? WTF I THOUGHT WE HAD A STANDARD OF EXPECTATIONS HERE? I also don't agree with his points to dollars ratio of $50. He had a choice of how to pay, and it was clearly explained. He didn't read, comprehend, or do his research. He can't fault Turbine for that.

My last known bit of information was when I was linked to a thread with Sapience saying, "Yes, the expansion will be on the store day one." That's what I went with. And you're telling me it's my fault because I didn't happen to catch another thread where he changes his mind and says, "Oops, what I really meant to say is yes, it will be on the store day one, but not the actual equivalent that you would get if you had pre-ordered." It's a good thing he released that information in such a timely fashion--one week before RoI pre-orders were done with. Three weeks after which I don't even learn about until I made an inquiry on GLFF.
Tell me again how it's the customer's fault for being blindsided by the company.
Also, wow. I didn't even know there was an unofficial community. Dalthalion, I imagine you incurred the wrath of Sapience as well when you called him up on his Hellgate gestapo tactics? That was about the same time he perma'd me as well. Although I probably shouldn't have told him that I wrote for Flagshipped. Oops!

It wasn't clearly explained at all, do you not recall the giant thread of complaints that followed Turbine's (finally) pricing the expansion in TPs?

This, its a very recent thing, but the amount of times we see "well its your fault for not doing your research". What a crock of sh@! I need to do a ton of research now before I buy a product just in case the company is trying to pull a fast one? The company should market their products responsibly, the marketing of RoI was misleading at best.

Another point I'd like to add where I feel Turbine is also screwing up (among the many screw ups lately).
RoI marks the second reset and the third time players are doing the same grind over again since Moria. So in three years all Turbine has been able to do is force a reset and have you grind the same crap over again.
The problem, however, is this. When you are reseting so much of what a character has done, you open it up for players to now have the choice between starting a character on another MMO or going through the same grind again. Regardless of the pathetic excuse for an exapansion that RoI is, when you open it up for players to have this decision (that being three months doing the same grind I've done repeatedly for three years or starting a new character in a new game and reaching level cap in the same period), you are opening it up for players to leave. I've heard this from many players in the last few months as they learned more about what RoI was.
Not that this was my main reason for leaving LOTRO earlier this year, but I did consider this at the time also.
Just some other food for thought.
