vBulletin's moderation is a straight forward when it comes to permissions. There isn't really anything complicated about it. Cordovans experience using the forums over time, has shown his knowledge of it, is limited. Think about this for a moment. There is no sensible reason to allow the CM of LotRO the "actual" Admin of the forums. This is why when a forum user get a ban that can never be lifted he can't change the permissions to allow you to be active. Its because the CM didn't place the ban or when the CM uses this choice they can't undo it. Also worthy to note is, when no reason is specified, its likely the CM had nothing to do with it. Who would have the top level admin of the forums? Hmm... Also there is this. If you are willing to contact vBulletin explaining the situation with Cordovan's mail exchange with you, there is a chance you can have the permissions reset by them. ofc with the SSG nod. Though this would bring into light the Admin forum chain at SSG isn't performing as one voice. This is why Cordovan tells you its easier or best to just create a new forum account. Which by the way means creating a fully new account for game and its forums. This reads like you had a smokescreen thrown at you from SSG via Cordovan passing the buck because admitting fault or ineptitude isn't acceptable.

I'm sure we'll see plenty of stockholm syndrome suffering addicts waxing lyrical about how much better everything runs on the 64-bit version without realising they're still running 32-bit

That scene was appalling. I said as a joke "and now he stabs her" and my partner was midway through saying "yeah, that would be pretty obvious" when he actually fucking stabbed her. Then the dragon melts the fucking throne, a throne made with fucking dragon fire before without melting it completely (which seems to do whatever's needed, like it used to just melt stone like at Harrenhal, now it explodes stone like TNT). Really? The dragon got the symbolism of the Iron Throne did it? Or did it think "oh no, mummy been stabbed, must be stabby chair"? Their desire to rush to the end left them with nothing but hack moments. I mean, come the fuck on, why is Branston pickle now the king? He made it clear he wasn't a lord or any of that shit any more and was well above it, suddenly he's like "yeah, let's king this bitch up". He's pretty much come out of nowhere to all the other lords and either they didn't tell anyone else he was magic until then or they all just accepted it really easy. Gendry had the strongest claim after Jon, considering he was a legitimised bastard Baratheon, and even he would've made a better choice than Richard Branson (still a bad choice, but you work with the shit you shit up). Arya's magically an explorer now? Made more sense in the books, they set up that sort of a person, but for the TV show she didn't really have any of that. She fucked off to Braavos after her dad popped his clogs, trained to be an assassin, became an assassin, used her power once, did some zombie killing, then got scared of zombies, teleported behind the Night's King, and never did any ninja stuff again. Cool, it's all over, I'mma fuck off in a boat to the west to see what's going on in Americaros. I've got to stop now before I start getting more annoyed. I could re-write that whole fucking season to make more sense, and I think that's what annoys me the most; if an amateur could do it, why the hell are those couple of fags getting paid hundreds of thousands to do a hack job?

As it stands on BR you could be Middle-earth's greatest deed completionist and when you hit cap you'll have gotten around rank 25/60 on all virtues and some alt veteran slacker gets rank 50 on them the day U24 goes live. It's all about harvesting the morons and attempting to garner support for the system by the old timers who get a skewed initial rank. Sap/Cord have done their best to get rid of those who don't rely on belief systems to arrive at their opinions, I will expect those who have exposed them will be joining us soon. It's like the rep you need at each new area' if you don't use rep accelerators throughout you end up half way to kindred. Virtues will be earn half from what's available in game and half from the store. But e-commerce rules the roost the devs and systems guys can knuckle down or walk.

I think this posts sums it up nicely: https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthread.php?&postid=7934324#post7934324 What the OP fails to note is the motivation for the changes: to drive people to the store. Now the deeds will be designed so that you can't get to max level on all virtues, and will need a tome of VXP or a VXP accelerator to get there.

There's not enough boobs worth seeing in the world to save the final season's bad writing....

I dislike the Bloodthirsty Dwarf writing in the GoT. He's a decent writer, but I got pissed off reading his series around 2005 (A Feast for Crows). Ages later, I got dragged into watching GoT (intro music, clothes) and was surprised by the good quality of the series. The final episodes, while visually interesting, are an exercise in imbecility as far as plot, military strategy, character development, and idiotic behavior of the protagonists. So yes, I sometimes dislike the G.R.R. Martin hype, but at least he is a writer. What passes as writing in the final series is ... I have no words. For idiots, by idiots.

We're only traipsing around because they put in the MC port to quest giver. Then they get Cord and some streamers using it to normalise it for the viewers. Then it's soon the default for whales.

But that's not Turbine/SSG's fault. Tolkien designed the city. It's essentially a 7-walled city, with the ramps and tunnels under the prow acting as choke points. The buildings and streets were designed so that they could also act as additional choke points. Turbine/SSG's quest design was horrible...many of them take you up one level, down three levels, back to the Citadel, and all the way back down to the Main Gate and out to the Causeways at Osgiliath. And then kills some random number of things until the RNG was kind enough to drop the item you need. And the back trough the Main Gate, back up to the Citadel, then back down three levels before returning to the original quest giver on the original level. Or run repeatedly through the Cisterns.

Re: graphics difference with 64bit In-game textures have been receiving little tweaks here and there for years in ongoing fashion, tucked in random updates. Like the update to the cosmetics textures from very early assets, that used to look real blurry when zoomed in - a few years ago they attained the same meticulous texture detail as the later post-Rohan assets. Part of what made old player avatars look real dated - even back in 2012/13 the original avatars looked great in their context, but overall graphic textures weren't as detailed as they later became. Before server mergers, population on Riddermark was so sparse I could actually play with ultra-high settings on everything, and when playing slowly just for wandering around and immersing, those little graphic tweaks were really noticeable. Had to turn down my graphic settings after migrating to Crick, and kept them low ever since (maybe because with massive disappointment in SSG, I didn't wanna be reminded how visually nice this game still is, and only dunked in and out for practical stuff like keep in touch with some players or help with raids - easier to treat it as "just a game" on lower settings). All of the above is to say... the compliments coming in about Lotro's incredible graphics are of course well deserved, but folks who really did work on them got laid off long ago, most likely. Nothing to do with new client, just the contrast between lower settings and high/ultra high. Same with new avatars, ultra high settings + new avatars gives it a real impression of newness. But it's been this way for a long while already.

What I find Ironic is how the those who claim they are fighting against fascism are the ones who are displaying all the attributes of being fasicst lol.. During the protest yesterday two people, both men aged over 50, were attacked by those protesting against Trump because they dared to speak out against them.

what I find even more hysterical is when these types of people are protesting in marches ect. for rights they already have oir have zero idea what they are protesting for. There are tons of vids on youtube where people in these marches are questioned and have zero clue about anything. I also love chowder and the change my mind videos. Shows how sad our education system has become when on a university campus these kids have no clue.

heh. as in the vid i linked above from Bludburn... he says loading is soo much better, only a few seconds later to reintroduce loading as an issue/excuse. Stockholm Syndrome indeed. this video is a tad more realistic about what the actual 64 bit client is doing... so far. better frame-rates & overall less memory degradation. so far at least it is entirely based on using YOUR systems components better. no real client net code improvements so far that i can tell, & the old engine will always be the old engine. both your machine AND new servers can only do soo much there. but i lock my system down at 60FPS & on the occasion i am in a long season & porting all over the map through many layers of game structure, so all this saves me is a reboot to clean up a long gaming season. yes it is an improvement, but not to the degree that some folk seem to think it will be. and the video acknowledges that this still may not be enough to not "deal-break" for some who are used to newer games. always a good idea not to over promise right out the gate.

It's this one, but I'm an idiot and merged yours with this, and it moved the whole other thread instead of yours. Should be fixed now, though.

yeah because she hopped on a pale horse as the bringer of death... or something. >.> or was it a white horse... so judgement?! just another flimsy excuse to appear deep, but end up looking like a shallow end of the pool wader. i did not say it was good. i said it made me happy that someone finally killed that... whilst in keeping with a total Mary Sue, couldn't have Arya kill a sister either... Jon had to finally play some part, as he was inept in dealing with the Wight King. also providing some ridiculous excuse to ship him off North, so he could finally pet Ghost. Danny making all the way to the end, only to look like a complete & utter fanatic: Tyrion could have pushed her down the stairs and broke her neck for all it mattered: the soul crushing effect of all those who hung on her as Queen of the Seven Kingdoms was the only salt i was after. show has been utter garbage for at least 3 seasons now.

I dunno.... at least the dragon had good sense to destroy the one thing that was causing excessive strife in Westeros.

The ILIs change drastically and you don't discard them. For LSs the discarding is nothing compared to the ILI grind/cost. Several times we have gotten ILI level raises without a cap increase just to drive the store sales. The backlash has had them tone these down recently as dps values on them have dropped behind non LI weapons offhands. Moria used to provide enough marks and meds to barter scrolls from the skirmish camp, they may have reduced the drop rate ofc... If these virtue changes go through it will be felt more on the LSs as they have further to progress under this system. As you ID people on the LSs do you notice the ratio of people who have levelling LIs and peeps who have none? I see people on Evernight with imbued legacies at rank 10 and 12 that with a few "free" IXP runes from deconns would have them at maybe 35 (min before scrolls). They just have too many advancement sub-systems going on, some will embrace them all, some just a few and others none of them. Then Vastin has to balance the game, nightmare.

I've been starting to doubt that more and more lately. There's something about his work that suggests he either got very lucky with his initial ASoIaF books, or he had only managed to properly plan out the story up until the end of the War of the Five Kings. Everything before then was fairly grounded, with plots that felt pretty solid and made some sense (considering he was taking so much from history, it's not surprising). Then he started to get slower and lazier in his writing, which I can only attribute to either apathy to his work, or a lack of creativity, and I tend to lean to the latter. He can't figure out how to tie up the loose ends in a satisfying way, especially if the show is along the same lines as he suggests he's aiming for. It doesn't help that he's also being outmatched by his own fans, who come up with much better twists and solutions than he ends up revealing, or in a lot of cases they've managed to guess before he could get there first. That's got to be a hell of a blow to a writer's ego and I don't envy him if that's the case.

As much as it annoys me, I have to agree with Splay, Cord needs to stick to DDO ( a game he knows ) and SSG should find someone to do the CM for Lotro that has actually been playing it for a long time. Lotro forums has become a SJW infested place. TBH, the DDO players, while a few are assholes, has handled this downtime with more grace than the Lotro players. I've been playing ESO and RIFT more often because of this downtime ( run for freedom, hamsters).

Maintenance mode? More like a "fuck you" mode. LI grind too much? Fuck you. Why are these last class changes not documented in patch notes? Fuck you. Where are the burglar changes we've been promised to get in previous update? Fuck you. Why didn't we even get to test any of these new changes on Bullroarer first? Fuck you. Hey when are the festivals gonna be this year? Fuck you. Hey where is the Producer's Letter that was supposed to be delivered back in December last year telling about this year's plans? Fuck you. Hey what's this new "Skirmish event" we can't find any details about it at all? Fuck you. Maintenance mode is so 2014 - 2017. Welcome to fuck you mode.
