  1. Legendary Items ... failure ... They were supposed to "grow with you" from the get-go. Legacies and Relics ... failure ... They either made the weapon OP or worse than it already was. Then they got changed mid-stream. Scrolls ... failure ... Just a way of making you pay real-world money to reset and/or change your LI Crystals ... failure ... VERY rare drop, "convenience" store item, didn't really offer much of an additional buff Imbuing ... Our goal is to take the early promise of an item that “grows with you” and fulfill that ... Wow, that only took seven years. Excuse my french, but all they are doing at this point is piling shit on top of more shit.
  2. I enjoy GW2. I like the living story. I avoid the drama and don't live to play the dungeons, PvP or WvW. I don't play LOTRO anymore, Kate Paiz turning it into Farmville (literally and figuratively) killed the game for me. I tried Skyrim during beta and didn't find it better than either. To each their own, I guess. Will there ever be a "perfect" MMO? No, because each an every player has a different definition of what their "perfect" MMO is. Myself? I won't carry a "fanboy" banner for any of them, I just play em.
  3. They are probably putting early mechanics in for HoT which may have broken the chat. I am just glad they finally turned off the stupid sepia-toned-fly-like-an-airplane April Fools "prank".
  4. Where did I hear that before...? Ah, yes, way back in 2008 before the release of Mines of Moria when LI's were supposed to "grow with you" and were advertised as such. (...and still waiting for the 3rd failed incarnation of the new but-we-will-probably-never-see-anyway PvMP zone)
  5. Wow...three Executive Producers in one year...must be a new record. "We're working on a new PvMP zone for Mines of Moria!" - Jeffrey Steefel "We're working on a new PvMP zone for Riders of Rohan!" - Kate Paiz "The team is also seriously investigating a new PvMP map in Osgiliath." - Athena “Vyvyanne” Peters
  6. I just shipped my pants... https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/105801626-Guild-Wars-2-Heart-of-Thorns-FAQ I stopped playing LOTRO about a year ago. I did pop in the other day, though. I think there was 84 people online...on one of the biggest servers. A far cry from the 300-500 (or more) not long ago.
  7. I've stopped playing the game, have no desire to. Not even the new areas or the upcoming update can entice me to play. But then again, there are a lot of changes going on in my life (for the better), so that may be part of the reason as to why I don't play much anymore.
  8. I couldn't have said it better myself. I don't think they can merge the servers, and even if they could, they wouldn't because they would be admitting failure. They'd much rather have 10 people on 20 servers than 200 people on one server. On a side note, I checked out Update 14 on Bullroarer and it's not even worth my time. Sad...I used to look forward to updates.
  9. Once again, Turbine's marketing department is alienating their players. How? By giving titles out to people who follow with them on Twitter. However, the title can only be gotten by NEW followers, If you already follow them on Twitter, you're SOL. Granted, this might get them a few extra likes on Twitter, but they are alienating their current player base, or the ones that already follow them anyway.
  10. More challenging? Definitely not. More GRINDY? Most definitely. For example, to get a recipe in the new area costs 100 "leaves", and is only a single use recipe. Additionally, there are only a few quests, most repeatable, and you get two, maybe three leaves per quest, so you'd have to do the same quests several times over to even get something basic.
  11. "For civilization to survive, the human race must remain civilized." - Rod Serling "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." - Voltaire
  12. You can uninstall Netsessions once the BR download is complete as it doesn't require it anymore.
  13. And they are single-use recipes that cost 400 leaves to purchase. No thanks. No jewelry is worth repeating quests 200 times for just for ONE piece.
  14. Sorry for the blunt title, but that's the best word I could come up with that conveyed what I felt about the new content. Apparently there are two different versions of Orthanc now, the one on the Rohan side and the one on the Dunland side. So, if you happen to travel to the Dunland side attempting to do the new quests, forget it. You have to enter from the Rohan side. I ended up having to pay 5 MC's so I could travel to the correct location because you can't cross from Dunland back to Rohan. So I did those quests and ended up talking to the ent outside of Orthanc, and he told me I had to go back to Fangorn, but recommended that I speak to the Huron to get there. After speaking to the Huron, I understood why. It's in a new area, and unless you know how to get there, you AREN'T going to find it because it DOES NOT appear on the Rohan map. And once you get there, you become completely lost because the map they do provide you with does not match the terrain you are on. You have to feel your way around. I was looking for one quest item, and trying to follow the arrows to get to it, but EVERYWHERE I went I ran into an invisible wall. No trees, no hills, just a giant invisible wall out in the middle of nowhere. I've lost all desire to do the new areas on my main character, and have NO desire whatsoever to do them on my alts. Top it off with the fact that I need to complete the Epic Battles, which I have no desire to do either, to move on in the Epic Story line, it looks like I won't be dong that either. And I really don't see things getting better from here on out. Beornings won't save this game.
  15. I feel for the PC, past and present. That's a job I would not want. I was a beta tester for every expansion, aside from SoA, and found myself pounding my head against the wall many times and asking myself "Who's idea was this???". However, I still feel that the PC more of a marketing ploy than something that will actually have an impact on the game. Granted, a few of the suggestions from the Council did make it into the game, but the PC can suggest ideas until their fingers bleed, and Turbine can still say no, even if the PC has proven their point ten fold. That's not something I can, or would want to, be a part of. The funny part is, using Radiance and an example, Turbine will fight tooth and nail to get something implemented even though beta testers told them it would cause problems, and then they will later take it out of the game. If they had only listened when we told them...
  16. Sauce: http://www.deadline.com/2014/04/peter-jackson-the-hobbit-battle-of-the-five-armies/ Can he derail The Hobbit any more? He'll probably be breaking the final movie into three seperate movies next...
  17. I checked things out on U13... After five months of waiting for what I figured was a simple fix, my Hunter can finally track Wargs. But, it seems when they implemented that, they took the DPS away from Hunters. I can't do any damage to anything remotely creeplike in the Moors. The new inventory bags are disappointing. The scripts they have on LOTROInterface are ten times better than what Turbine put in the game, and they've been around for years. Haven't had a chance to check out the updated zones yet (TS, MM, ND). Attempted to do the quests in the new zones on my main, but got bored after collecting plants and saving NPC's from fallen debris. More collection quests, more cleanup work after the Fellowship has already been through the area. Yay. Can't do the Epic Quests because I haven't completed the previous book yet. Can't complete the previous book because I can't stand the Epic Battles. I really, really hate forced game-play. All in all, I give the update a D-. Turbine is trying (or attempting to tread water, haven't figured it out yet), but they still aren't getting the message. I'll give "Rowan" one more update.
  18. No one likes the "Epic Battles". So, what are they doing for Update 14? Coming out with a new Epic Battle. IMHO, they need to fix Epic Battles before they come out with more of them... There are two glaring issues that I know of... 1. They are way too long, especially for solo players. 2. The rewards need to be reworked to where you don't keep getting the same items over and over again. There may be other issues with Epic Battles, but to be quite honest, I haven't even gone near them since Helm's Deep launched. And I REALLY hate the fact that you are REQUIRED to do them as part of the Epic Story, especially since you HAVE to complete them in order to move on to the next book.
  19. I didn't pre-order for LOTRO, played the game for several years until it went to shit with F2P. I pre-ordered for Star Wars, stopped playing after a few weeks. PvP servers killed this game for me. I didn't mind the PvP'ers and PvP'ing, but there were guilds who's purpose for existence was solely to grief other players and nothing else. To me, that is not PvP. That's people being douche bags and getting off on it. I pre-ordered for GW2, stopped playing after one of my characters hit 85. The game is good, but it has no "sense of direction". I didn't even bother with TESO after playing in one of their betas. They took two steps forward and three steps back with this one. Unless some MMO comes out with a completely new, completely re-designed system, something that has never been done before, I think MMO's are pretty much done, perhaps for me anyway. A one-world community is a step in the right direction as they are doing with TESO, but they failed in so many other ways with the game.
  20. Looged on to Landroval last night...barely over 100 people in GLFF when the average is 300-400 or even more when there's a new update. I am expecting the numbers will go up next week, but not for long.
  21. The numbers on my server are the lowest I have ever seen them since LOTRO came out. We don't even break 200 in GLFF anymore. And I'm on one of the biggest servers.
  22. I forgot to mention that I lost my serial code as well....
  23. No, the code you get from the authenticator. I never set it up on my account, yet if I try to log in it asks for it. And if I try to log into the website to turn it off, it asks for it there too...
