  1. The hallmark of a free society is that I may totally disapprove of what you say, but I'll defend your right to say it until I die.
  2. No it's based off the later one by Fantasy Flight Games - LOTR:LCG. I rate it very highly. This adaptation looks a bit dumbed down unfortunately, but at least it's a LCG instead of CCG, so no random card packs. Link to the original card game: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/the-lord-of-the-rings-the-card-game/
  3. Something to keep an eye on. Looks like a heavily modified version of the card game which is good and bad. Good because the card game was really quite fun. Bad because it looks like it has been pretty heavily modified. Still looks like something to keep an eye on. http://store.steampowered.com/app/509580/The_Lord_of_the_Rings_Living_Card_Game/
  4. A lot harder to get that over the line given the estate still holds all the rights to the Silmarillion.
  5. Just not sure why they keep doing this to themselves.....
  6. Why? As has been pointed out, there's a pretty big fucking difference between the security of emails for the Secretary of State of the United States and some midwest Governor that anyone outside of Indiana probably would never heard of. I shouldn't have to point this out, but the two massive differences are. One - As Governor of Indiana, he didn't handle any classified material (unlike the Secretary of State). Two - Under Indiana law it was not illegal for him to do so (unlike the Secretary of State). Unless the supposition here is that no one who's had a private email server is allowed to criticise Hillary.....
  7. Careful. That sort of talk will blow up bigly in your face around here.
  8. I'd still like to see this answered. Absolutely no one thinks that there was a 'bowling green massacre' and she clarified that the following day. If this was planned, they'd have to know that it was going to be easily debunked straight away and that the media would have a field day with it.
  9. Just so we're absolutely clear here: During an interview with MSNBC's Chris Matthews on Thursday, White House counsellorr and spokeswoman Kellyanne Conway said Trump's recent executive order was justified in part because of the "Bowling Green massacre" of 2011, which never took place. Conway corrected herself on Friday in a post on Twitter, saying: "Honest mistakes abound." Conway said on Twitter that she meant to say "Bowling Green terrorists" on the show. In fact, in May 2011, two Iraqi men were arrested in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and charged with attempting to send weapons and money to al-Qaeda in Iraq. They admitted to using improvised explosive devices against US soldiers in Iraq. Mohanad Shareef Hammadi and Waad Ramadan Alwan pleaded guilty and were sentenced to life in prison and to 40 years in prison, respectively.
  10. For one thing, anyone who's password is.... 'password' is just an idiot. Regardless I don't give a stuff if Russia is behind it or not (and given that no evidence has been produced, one has to wonder). There was nothing fabricated in those leaks. It laid bare just how horrible and corrupt the DNC process was. This is the sort of thing mainstream media should have been exposing themselves, but they were so far up the asshole of the Clinton camp there was never a chance of that happening. There were plenty of damaging things 'leaked' about Donald Trump before the election. I just don't see much difference between some butt hurt regressive lefty leaking Trumps private conversations to make him look bad to the leaks of the DNC (with Podesta's ridiculous password and falling for a phishing scam). None of it was fabricated. Honestly I'm all for the public having as much information about the candidates as possible.
  11. I've backed Kingdom Death: Monster on kickstarter so my big 2017 project will be assembling and painting 15 million minatures at the end of the year. But my real project this year is self improvement. Started working out and plan on losing 10kg by the end of the year. My business is growing and I plan on really devoting myself to make that work (whilst still being the primary carer for my kids which makes it hard).
  12. That's not how I read it. I would have expected them to state quite clearly that the licence had been extended if that had been the case. My take on "We’ve updated our licensing agreements without issue and will continue that relationship" would be that the current licence has been transferred over with the acquisition and that they'll still have to negotiate the renewal next year.
  13. Of course they are. This whole exercise appears to me to be the start of a renegotiation of the contract. $4 billion US for two aircraft, and thats before the almost certain cost blowouts.
  14. One of my recent Guardian favourites.... https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/nov/10/misogyny-us-election-voters
  15. Really? The guardian? Such a font of impartiality there.....
  16. Well that's your opinion. I've no doubt that there are racist people out there, but I simply don't agree that it's as widespread as your making out. Unless of course your going down the SJW rabbit hole that all white people are inherently racist, in which case I think we can safely call our discourse finished.
  17. Subscription. I feel I've given F2P/B2P MMO's a fair shake of the sauce bottle over the last 5 years or so and I can honestly say for me the quality of an MMO just seems much higher in games like WoW and FFXIV, particularly in group content which I'm more interested in.
  18. The left seem mystified by the fact that after calling great swaths of the population racist, bigoted, terrible people why they didn't suddenly go vote for them. Ultimately they've disappeared up their own 'progressive' (actually regressive) assholes and have lost touch with what the average voter wants, which is who the left was supposed to be representing in the first place. And yet that is exactly what the left is suggesting by trying to push these recounts in close states.
  19. Oh come on. Do you really think that will happen? Or do you just think the black and women supremacist groups will suffer a minor setback and maybe we won't be forced to call someone Mx as their pronoun or face prosecution for a few years?
  20. It's representative democracy, the same as we have in Australia and the UK. You vote for a representative who then represents that electorate in government decisions (in this particular instance, the choice of head of state). In fact we've had the same situation here in Australia in the past where the two party preferred vote was actually in favour of the Labor party but the Liberals won because the Labor vote was heavily concentrated in a number of electorates. It's one of the disadvantages of the system, but direct democracy has it's own substantial drawbacks.
  21. I don't necessarily think the questing has gotten worse. It's just that it certainly hasn't gotten any better, whereas the rest of the industry has mostly moved on and puts serious effort in designing engaging quest content (as opposed to kill x / fetch quests). I really noticed the difference from playing Legion and then coming back to LOTRO.
  22. I love watching Cenk lose it. As for minimum wages, here in Australia (due to how strong unions are here) we have the highest nominal minimum wage in the entire world. It's currently $17.70 Australian an hour which equates to 10.70 UK Pounds or $13.30 US an hour. The result of this has been the evisceration of the Australian manufacturing sector. It's quite simply too expensive to make almost anything here and we end up relying on the mining sector and ever increasing government spending (and growing debt) to maintain the economy. We also have one of the lowest tax rates of low income earners in the world (and one of the highest rates on high income earners). We also have free health care. Despite all this, people still complain bitterly about how bad they have it here. It makes me sick to be honest.
