  1. It gets better: they versioned them in order to force players to ride goddamm ELK. I wonder who was the genius responsible.
  2. They kinda stepped back. The only change for Rep Tomes is that they'll now bind to account. Also, they increased sources for SoEs. BUT the main source of top tier SoEs (80-83) will be behind a paywall, either you buy their latest dismal "miniexpansion" and grind them there or get them straight from the cash shop. Apparently you'll still be able to get all-tier SoEs through bartering / RNG from a number of sources, but I bet they'll fix the odds in their favor and raise the number of required barter items. Communication of all these has been as heavy-handed as expected. Someone at the OF correctly spotted the bad cop (Cordoban) / good cop (Tybur) routine. Too late for them as the few media that still give a bother about Lotro (namely MassivelyOP) already posted what they thought of their moves and they are not that encouraging. Not that SSG will give a damn, they already won the "biggest MMO blunder of 2020" award in December and yet they proceeded with this POS.
  3. Meaning that he's missing his checks. It speaks volumes that SSG can't / won't afford some Standard edition codes for media shills to check their wares. On the other hand, maybe they don't want them checked.
  4. You know they're in trouble when even Elmagor complains.
  5. SSGs graphs would make an interesting reading as I cannot see any logic in their decisions. If subscription stops including new regions, many current subscribers will drop their payments as the only redeeming feature left is PvMP and we all know how good that is. Greed itself is not a winning business strategy. And seriously, just how dismal their trailers can get? They always achieve to make the game look older than its age.
  6. Downtime again as routing issues prevent login. Currently 12 hours and SSG is playing the "not on our side of things" card even if DDO, sharing the same server location and routing, can still be accessed. It would not surprise me the least if this is actually related to their free content offer ending yesterday. They're such a disgrace.
  7. This made me laugh (from the 27.3.1patch notes): News and Notes Housing Property Guards will no longer attack cosmetic pet housing decorations. I'd laugh even harder if those pet housing decorations got permadeath, particularly the ones discussed above. Imagine the faces of the whales upon discovering that their Marigold killed their whole stable while they were offline.
  8. You misread - servers were down or crashing for 9+ days, 14 days until they were able to get chat working. Then 3 extended downtimes for minor updates, transfers on and off, servers crashing again a couple of days ago... The game is currently unplayable. The OF are deservedly on fire. At this point, I sincerely believe that they won't manage to fix it again.
  9. If my maths are right, that's about 55 USD for a house and nearly 100 USD for a mead hall. Plus maintenance probably.
  10. Viznak is just a washed up second hand Gollum and a stellar example of the bland tripe MadeofLions gets praised for at the OF. Uninspired fanfic which in better days would never have been allowed into print. The guy is the king of lack of continuity and loose ends. How many Gandalfs are currently in game waiting for him to pick up one of his inane subplots?
  11. Yeah I was going to mention this. The worst animation I've seen in a game in many many years, it's beyond laughable. Positively nightmare stuff.
  12. They are almost on level with rude bouncers emptying a venue after a show.
  13. This is nothing less than an insult. They seemingly want everybody out for good.
  14. I stopped reading after the first four words. "In the last week". According to their own Twitter account, the current shitfest started on July the 15th. These morons can't even figure a calendar.
  15. Cordovan, 12 days later: "it is taking slightly longer than originally estimated." What a clown. Also, the THANKYOUGIFT coupon just in: Skill and Slayer Deed Boost x5 Enhanced XP Supply x5 +5000 Enhanced Reputation Supply +2000 Virtue Acceleration Tome Not a single fucking LP. The mingy stingy skimpy mean motherfuckers.
  16. Except for Smeagol and Deagol... and things got pretty bad with Lotho and his Shirriffs during the Scouring of the Shire, no bloodshed but unjustified detention and beatings. Wasn’t there some kind of internal fight during the Long Winter?
  17. I am not sure about PvP being antiTolkienesque. One of his main themes is civil wars, the kin strife, the Kinslayings, Arthedain vs Cardolan vs Rhudaur. None of the participants in these is portrayed as purely evil.
  18. What speaks volumes is that SSG had not actual presence inside PAX and opted to gather at a former producer’s pub instead. Not a very strong proof of life.
  19. Of course you remember who owns the aforementioned Adventure Pub.
  20. Not that I know of. What I meant is that Druidsfire / MMO Central seem to have lost favour and have been substituted with Carter / Destructoid. SSG is paying in order to present themselves as contenders, when major gaming news sites have all but lost any former interest in LOTRO. Destructoid and MMO Central are nothing but glorified fanzines, strictly infomercial territory. You will not find professional reviews there. As an example, either Chris Carter completely ignores everything about licensing or has chosen to ignore it. Only an ignorant or a liar would write the following: “Although Second Age material is off the table for Standing Stone Games right, that could change with the possibility of Amazon touching Second Age material. Depending on how it's handled, it could be the first real time that the era was depicted in popular media ever.” Does he think that the Silmarillion is going to become public domain when Amazon buys into it? No, but he misguides gullible readers into thinking so. Truth is, in order to get access to that material you need the kind of money that Amazon has, and SSG are worlds away from that no matter how many whales they could attract.
  21. Meet Chris Carter, the new Druidsfire, and Destructoid, the new MMO Central. Only the most naive would mistake these microscopic propaganda ridden pamphlets for independent, critical sources of information. “Travel was provided by Standing Stone Games”. No shit! Ciccolini’s comments are delusional if given the benefit of the doubt. Remove it and it’s some of the most malicious I’ve ever read from a games company. Embarrassing to say the least.
  22. I stand corrected, the newest BBoMordor quests are not gated behind Minas M purchase, in fact it is an alternative to buying Mordor as both unlock them (or, you paid twice for the same stuff). SSGs communication is dismal for a company that includes at least a storytelling lawyer within their ranks (granted, he is not a very good one). BTW, win some lose some: their newest accelerator gear does not stack with others. Again, they fail to tell you so before purchase.
