  1. plus the difference between 1 server for the entire population and what? 20ish servers for LOTRO doesn't help either But I agree with above poster, LOTRO being UI based and not an actual auction house does make a riot rather tricky... no one can beat the invisible hobbit!
  2. Pitty... I kinda liked the conversation that was going on, and then the line (which our old man rightfully indicated) was crossed. In mine opinion (emphasis on mine) you cannot have a conversation about supernatural/natural without resorting to believes and perceptions. What is supernatural? Is it still supernatural if it's proven by science? Or does it has to be cloaked by mystery and myth? And yes, religion is intertwined in all that. If I look at our history, I see more and more phenomenons (spelling?) being explained by science and looses its supernatural event of which, often, was explained to a god. Think of tsunami's, lightning, the sun sets/arises even the seasons. To therefore wanting to have a discussion about supernatural vs natural, is to bring in faith and believes. It's like talking about life 'out there' and excluding Mars-men as they are within our own solar rim.
  3. One I shot when my Girlfriend and I were in Paris; What a little drain of colour can do to a picture
  4. I can't help you atm, but just throwing in one quick note: You say you have made two tickets already. In both cases you should receive an e-mail from Turbine's support stating your problem and autofilling it with a plausible solution/answer to the issue. However, and here is the kicker, unless you reply to that e-mail they think the issue has been resolved. So my real question is: After making those two tickets, did you -in both cases- receive an e-mail and actually reply to it as well? If not, there is your problem why they haven't responded. Hope all is sorted soon.
  5. Even though my main is a Warden, and he is struggling by keeping all stats happy. I am a big NO against more store-only stuff. As you suggest now Doro, it results that people who want/can/will spend more money on the game, can be better equipped then people who run OD/BG with their kin. I am playing this game cos I like the lore/setting and because you are rewarded for your actions, not by your wallet. So a big no for me. I am already disappointed in the store-relics, as a warden I really should buy the continuance settings :\
  6. As others said above; there are a couple things you should keep separate: -Connection with the server --> Latency and Loss Latency is expressed in milliseconds and shows the delay of you pushing a button and the server receiving it. Meaning if you have a latency of 200, your actions will be recorded 200 milliseconds (0,2seconds) after you activated the skill. As peoples perception is between 0,4-0,6 seconds this isn't a real big of a deal for MMO's. In shooter-games (FPS) this is a big difference as aiming is a big part of those games, meaning the difference between a hit or a miss. Loss is the amount of packages that are lost. Roughly a loss of 0,1-0,2% is pretty normal. More loss means that either your area is a dense traffic and through that packages are lost, or any other reason. Apparently newer models of routers/modems can increase it. But i'm no expert in that -Lagg, the freeze of your screen This can have two reasons; one is that your own computer can't handle the amount of data that needs to be created, for example a lot of flashy skills, people/monsters moving across the screen and such. This is due to your own hardware can't handling the amount. As a result the computer is behind with what actually is happening resulting in 'lagg'. As the OP has ultra settings this will not be quite the problem. Other reason is that information is stocking/stacking as packages of information are building up. Usually the loss increases as the latency is not stable. When it varies between (for exameple) 100-400ms the sudden spike can result in the screen 'waiting' for new information about the movement of the people around you, resulting in a freeze of movement. my 2 cents
  7. Same here! Both little alts can be picked on the forum, real 'alts' of Snowbourn still not available though
  8. Been playing this week pretty intensively and after a while I must admit I don't really feel the glue as I described it earlier anymore. Might be cos I am accustomed to the pace now, don't know. Increase in latency is the same for about everyone. Lag spikes as described above are different per player and I personally haven't really felt a spike just yet (did loads of 3 and 6man instances now as well as some ettens). I'm happy with the increase of the opening of the LOTRO store, as I often misclick on the LI-window (on the 8th slot instead of the cross) and now my screen isn't locked for 2 seconds like it used to do. Further than did I am asthonished how easy (read: a walk in the park) SG has become. Went in there today with 2 first-timers and by all means no great players and Gorothul dropped like a fly. No need for FH or TS by the minstrel. Really sad. Is this purely due to the removal of radiance?
  9. Why did I not received that e-mail? o_0 (checked spam folder as well) Guess i'll change my PW right now on Turbine, as I used the same PW but a different accountname, still doesn't feel quite as safe now.
  10. ah It's good to know you are here as well Hej! Bloody fear of yours kept me from killing your friends a couple of times! /salute from the West Gate Borfini, little unnoticable hobbit warden ^_^
  11. Must admit, just 1 hour ago I played the Forsaken inn instance with 2 others and I did notice some 'glue' to my character. So am afraid you were right after all. We'll see how it goes in more hectic 6-12 man instances.
  12. you're absolutely right, my bad @Bacho, I too am a warden, but I hardly feel/see/notice a difference. Maybe because I am used to queueing my skills? As said in earlier post, ofcourse for CJ's and interupts every bit counts, but hey... makes us again a bit a harder to play and thus interesting? ;-)
  13. Pitty this is the first time I hear about it. Else I would have certainly go. Is it one of those Rotterdam activities cos of the summer?
  14. Okay, let's get some stuff straight first Most people I see here get around 100-130ms (milli seconds). Which means the time between you pushing a button and the gaming performing it has a delay of 0,13 second. For comparison: People usually have a response time of 0,4-0,6 seconds between noticing something and handling. So what does this all mean? When you see an NPC performing an induction based skill, you have for example 3 seconds to interupt. As said, the first 0,4-0,6second is lost by you processing the visual aspect and pushing your clobber/addle whatever. The latency (delay) is added: 0,13. You quickly see that yes, roughly a delay of 0,1 second is added since the migration, on critical stuff a steady latency is of no problem. As an example: a First-person shooter like Call of Duty the latency between 50 and 150 milliseconds is noticeable because every tenth of a second counts as it will determine whether you shot someone in the head or missed it by a hair. In LOTRO that difference only account for CJ's and interupt skills which has a window of 2-5 seconds. Now lagg. Lagg is basically when your connection is not stable, hence the latency is going up and down. Especially when packages are being lost and the latency has a range of 100-300 milliseconds than you really start to notice it. Laggs over 2 seconds means you are either passing really overcrowded nodes (through which the information has to flow) or your own computer have trouble processing all the information/graphics. Yesterday I played on the RP server of the US (didn't know the EU servers were online) and as I had a stable latency of 120 at all times and no losses (while Codies servers had 20ms AND a 0,1% loss) I really couldn't see any difference at all. Yes, with more people on the same spot (21st hall, raids, PVMP) the amount of information that needs to be transfered increases and thus the change of losses / latency variety also increases. Today will tell more about that In short: I am surprised about the quality of the servers thus far.
  15. Anyone who can see their characters already in the mylotro website? I can choose a forumname and all that, but I can't see my characters. Also, where do you see your subscription status? (some people said they can see their lifetime sub) I haven't found the right place for that on lotro.com yet.
  16. 3 times I thought I was passed step 2, but each time I ended up with that hideous maintenance screen. The third time I wasn't even aware of it success as I immediately received an e-mail (which I auto check by habbit) saying the migration was successful. 1 Minute later and the LOTRO launcher was showing the (US) servers
  17. For those that are stuck at transfer.lotro.com Use the direct link: https://cogaccounts.codemasters.com/lotrotransfer/Home/Index/en? Saves you one 'maintenance' website
  18. From twitter #LOTRO Please be aware the maintenance page is a default page displayed when site load exceeds our limits. The site is not actually in maintenance. This would confirm your assumption Grimdoin
  19. Website for migration is indeed down. Probably the authentication server couldn't handle it. Odd though, since the usual cogaccounts login server worked perfectly fine. Guess it will be a waiting game for most of us
  20. Well... For them it wasn't prime time ;-) I missed it while I was eating, luckily the twitter feed of Sapience is pretty swift. I'll keep an eye on twitter for updates. But, if I understood correctly: Currently you can only 'transfer the account' while the game-servers will be online in 1-2 days, correct?
  21. No pvmp for more than 24 hours now :'( You'd almost say I am addicted
  22. Only have the warden for about 2 months, but already 65 and nearing raid-ready. So I've been reading a lot on the codies forums about the class and am intruiged by the new proposals of Orion on US forums (main reason why I am lurking US forums atm). Not too sure I like all the ideas, but some changes are more than welcome. Noted; We are a good tank at the moment, but we really like an aggro dump/capture. Sometimes I wish we had that champ skill (ire dump/get thingy?). Guard<>warden duo is fine, but warden+warden is nearing the impossible.
  23. Congratz to this great forum! A month? Wow, I'd say it was only yesterday.... O wait, yesterday I joined... Keep up the good work!
  24. From what I am reading on these fan forums, is that most are allowing Turbine to start from scratch as most have no previous experience with the company. Personally I am a bit on the negative side. Normally I am easily pleased, but let me state that the reputation starts at -1000 neutral instead of 0. Lets hope the servers are online within the time frame they said they would be.
  25. Great Opening Undo, I admire your neutral point of view As I have a lot of days off these past weeks, I have been reading the US forums more and more. Especially now that the servers are being moved. I must admit that the more I read, the more my spirit is being drained empty. Threads locked, store-only relics etc.... But on the positive side: New skirmishes reopening lost areas (Forochel really needed a boost, and to see a story about Dol Dinen was also a great surprise), the upcoming new books in fall/winter and my life-time subscription will bring much joy in the upcoming months. The king is dead, long live the king!
