Trilwych
I was cleaning out my archives and ran across some dusty screenshots. Well, doesn't hurt to remember the good times, certainly. One of the first screenshots I ever took in LotRO, 2009. The video quality was terrible (my settings), but whatever--that was Bag End! Buying my first house. I went through four total, ending up with a kinship house. SO VERY RICH! People who said you couldn't make money by selling crafted goods were silly. My main was an Armourer. I was pretty excited to "meet" Gandalf and the rest in Elrond's house. I loved my captain. Rainbow traiting (and I know some of the Virtues were weird picks, but I had my reasons, though bugger if I remember now). Moria, when it was still dark and dangerous and freakin' annoying to people without a strong sense of direction (this was posted to the cosmetic mega-thread). From my "Perfect LI" thread. I had a vast mount collection and matching wardrobe collection like a whole lot of people (which also helped me tolerate the general meh-ness of mounted combat, I admit). First mount! Level 35, forgot how much gold it cost back then. First "special" mount, Harvestmath horse. First reputation mount, from the Council of the North. I started questing/grinding in Angmar when half the mobs were still purple in order to get that horse (this pic was taken for a contest or something). Most "warsteed"-like horse at the time, the second Council of the North rep mount. And the MC warsteed. I tried to enjoy it for what it was...making it look nice with my captain helped in the psychological factor, I guess. LOL As I started leveling an alt, my burg Ioridh, I took care to document my favorite questline ever in LotRO at the time. But I can't seem to find screenshots for the fellowship-onward parts, though I was sure I took them. Dammit. http://s206.photobucket.com/user/trilwow/library/lotro/Reforging%20of%20Narsil Good times. Wrath of Winter
Good call on 4 Haven Way, I have a house at that location as well. Re: the pre-revamp Moria screenshot The lighting situation at the Great Hall of Durin seems nearly identical to the way it is now. Could it be a spot they've left unchanged? From my "Perfect LI" thread. Granted it's 4am here, so I had to do a double take that I was seeing this right. Thanks for sharing these, screenshot-memory threads are always enjoyable to browse. Koolio
it was not meant to be snarky, it was in awe. I actually used up a case of polaroid film that I had salvaged a few years ago. Yeah when you could still buy it at walmart.

About the Moria shot--I believe I actually enhanced that in Photoshop since I posted it to the cosmetic mega-thread, so it was probably re-leveled to make everything more visible. I liked my houses, but now having tasted proper player housing in a different game, I just can't go back. I still have all the screenshots of my kinhouse interiors, though, heh. Yeah, LIs. It's best to just make fun of them after a while. it was not meant to be snarky, it was in awe. I actually used up a case of polaroid film that I had salvaged a few years ago. Yeah when you could still buy it at walmart. I selected these after pruning; it turns out many of the old screenshots were for bug reports. Thequinn
Nice screenshots. Sadly I erased mine recently. Unless your a big fan of hobbits most would not enjoy them. I believe I posted them in another thread way back. Luckily I kept some on my FB page. Something for the christmas spirit This was my second toon a hunter These next ones were my main during Moria and MW. Transfered during the end of ROI from Windfola to Meneldor A balrog face down. My main at the time a Burg was the only toon to finish it. My only regrets is I have not taken one screenshot from TOO or even DN back in the day. Sometimes I forget the print screen button even does anything lol.

Trilwych
Unless your a big fan of hobbits most would not enjoy them.On the contrary! I've always liked Hobbits in the game. Unlike other games, where short races end up...underutilized, under-appreciated, teased, and so on, Hobbits and Dwarves were "respected" races due to the IP, which was refreshing. I had just started a Hobbit guardian alt by the time Turbine dropped the trait tree news, though. (Edit: I mean I don't think someone has to be a big fan of Hobbits to enjoy such screenies, rather that due to the lore, these short races aren't looked down upon like all the other ones in the other games I've played. Or something. I'm not being clear.) I just died of Nostalgia. Can I have your stuff? @cossieuk: Oh yeah, that's a nice angle! The "cast" (though Turbine did cheat by using an existing IP) in the game was one of the best aspects. A view of Evendim after the revamp, taken from the statue. Fishing in Evendim. I don't remember what fishing was for, though. A night scene, somewhere. Forochel was one of my favorite zones. It helps that my childhood was spent in a place that was frigid and snowy for almost half the year. Lothlorien. I really miss that place. I died many times falling off flets, so nostalgic. Err, I have no idea where this was taken. North Downs. I loved North Downs, though I was pretty happy when Turbine added the extra (2?) stable. Rivendell... ...aaaaand Trollshaws. (He made it! Okay, I cheated with the buffs.) I had named this "tater" and have no idea where it was taken. LOL "Cabbage".... It must have been the juxtapositioning or something that I found amusing. This was taken in the elf starter area in Ered Luin, while cabbages are so...Hobbitses.
Belechannas
OK, I'll play... First Balrog kill (on my Burglar, decked out in a full Helegrod set I farmed by crafting jewelry and farming Beryl one-shot recipes). I would guess that between my LM and Burg, I probably had fifty or more unsuccessful attempts prior to finally getting a kill. Battle of Aughaire - Server First! (We all then switched to alts and got the second kill too...) Moria Beta - at the end of a Moors testing session, the devs spawned a bunch of bosses in the Moors - including Thaurlach - and let the creeps destroy them. Rubble - my server/tribe's best reaver - got the KB here on Thaurlach, which was funny. I wanted to post a gratz thread for everyone to laugh over, but of course couldn't due to the NDA. Moria Beta - first look at the Watcher! Needless to say, it didn't go too well. Still being a raiding noob at the time, and not from Elendilmir (where all the elitists I would be raiding with in a few months were...), I couldn't get into any of the good raid testing groups, despite showing up for pretty much every testing session. Moria Beta - Durin's Bane! I ran this session-play quest over and over until I got a nice screenshot. One of the more impressive graphics efforts in LotRO. My Warden, looking bad-ass in Moria. "You talkin' to me?" I miss her... Soloing Bogbereth, in what was to become a sort of Warden rite of passage. I wasn't the first, but I was probably one of the first few (at least judging by the forum thread that inspired everyone to try it). When I announced the feat in my friends' private chat channel, nobody believed me... More MoM-era Warden porn - the lighting effect here is very cool: And what was (although I didn't know it at the time) my last notable Warden victory - killing blow on Blind One Hard Mode. I think this was only the third kill world-wide (got the first on my LM). Boggles my mind that Turbine went to the trouble of creating a rather elaborate and quite difficult (for LotRO at the time) special mode for this fight, and didn't add any loot incentive or even a deed/title for beating it, so nobody except Preying Mantis and a hard-core kinship from Europe ("The Mellowship") ever actually did it on-level, as far as I'm aware. One of the more impressive graphics efforts in LotRO. Oh yeah, very nice. Or bad, very bad. I remember doing the session play but I didn't have a big monitor at the time--that would've been grand, on a much bigger monitor. Warden porn, hahaha. Nice armor look--one thing I appreciated in LotRO was that male/female versions weren't stupidly lopsided (full awesome-plate in one version and then dinky bikini-plate in another version). I wonder if people are still running the old content while using the XP disabler. It's no fun if you're too overlevel either, but on the other hand, if many people have moved on, I suppose 6-manning a 12-man while 10 levels above would still work. Condolences for your warden. I'd forgotten that I went on my Captain for that fight. You clearly used hax to get the KB instead of Caidence. /reported Roov was the other tank, I'm guessing? And now you've made me miss the old days of raiding... damn you, sir.
Tinker
Love looking at all your cool pics. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I have tons of screenshots from LOTRO. Here's one of my favs from the weekend when someone was dumping avancs in Bree (but sadly after the devs had domesticated them):

Here's one of my favs from the weekend when someone was dumping avancs in Bree (but sadly after the devs had domesticated them): Heh, I never got to experience that directly. I have over 2000 files in my old LotRO screenshots/installation folders (there were duplicate locations with different files because I reinstalled it on a new computer at some point), including chat logs (e.g. still have the crafting RNG parses). I know I have quite a number of screenshots from my WoW days including raids and RP events... probably burned on a CD somewhere. When you spend years of your life doing something, in a "place," with certain people, it's just another kind of memento, eh. For LotRO, I tend to have more landscape shots, though. Leafblade
It's funny, now, I remember still trying a hobbit burglar in beta and starting my captain on launch day so long ago. Aside from my sense of awe at the time was my 'concern' about what they would do when we got through Mordor and the Ring was destroyed. Doesn't seem we'll get there now. Aside from my sense of awe at the time was my 'concern' about what they would do when we got through Mordor and the Ring was destroyed. Doesn't seem we'll get there now. I remember chatting with a friend about that and we thought they'd do some stuff from the appendices like the burning of the Shire and whatnot. At this point, I'll remain satisfied that the bulk of my play time in LotRO was good, and I left at a good time instead of letting HD sour the entire experience. Even if Turbine somehow limped their way to Mordor in all its unfettered mediocrity, I wouldn't be able to participate as a premium player anyway--they gated the epics behind the HD purchase, which I will never do. Wrath of Winter
This is my favorite screenshot Took a bit of time to get the camera angle just right to make Elrond look like an angel That semblance did cross my mind when I was in that instance. Allright, now I'm compelled to share my own take on it (and ditto on being a favorite) I wonder if that gap was there precisely to be filled.
