America needs to change to a better healthcare system, one where it is about saving lives not making obscene amounts of money.

After seeing the NHS recently, I'm not sure a public healthcare system works any more.

It can if you run it better.  Far to much money is wasted.  They spend an estimated £4 million a year on Homeopathy.

Hospitals use contracted cleaners that are not allowed to clean up bodily fluids, as they are not trained to do it safely, meaning that nursing staff end up having to do the cleaners job.

So it has it problems but it is so much better than having to get insurance or you are screwed if you become ill.

Also for those that want private healthcare that is still an option.

I have nothing but praise for the NHS, I can say for sure that my dad is still alive to day thanks to the service it provides.

This is the key part here, the NHS may not be perfect but it certainly provides a lot more choice than many other countries. I choose to pay private healthcare (my employer makes a contribution as well) because I can afford it but for those that can't the NHS is (literally) a life saver.

I live in one of the biggest "lefty" nations out there, Canada, and I can tell you, Trump would be a big improvement over what we have here.  All Trudeau is good for is having selfies taken of himself.  Coming from the land of moron, do-nothing politicians (Canada), I can safely say that you have a winner in Trump.  He's not just a self-loving dirtbag, he's a man of action, and I do believe he will clean shit up in Washington and get things done for Americans.  He's not going to start any wars, that is horseshit fear-mongering lies propagated from the American left.  Buckle up for a lot of civil unrest for the next while.  The globalist puppeteers are having the time of their lives right now ...

Money is never spent where it's needed most. Frontline services. Look at the Local Authorities in England, especially the Labour run ones. I know for a fact that the former Chief Executive of Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council earned £175000/year for virtually doing fuck-all. Did she make sure the service ran smoothly? Did she fuck. They were always hiring new service directors for services they just thought up(probably mates got jobs), and while this was going on, frontline staff was cut. I know that during the recession, Wigan Council cut something like 800 jobs. Where were these, you ask?

Frontline services.

It is so stupid that any civil servant is paid more then the PM.  They can argue as much as they like about the amount of work they have to do and how many things they have to keep control over, but none of that will match what  the PM is tasked to do

Here is a US map of the election results. if you drill down on the states you can see that Clinton support is ~90% city based.

http://www.nytimes.com/elections/results/president?action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=span-abc-region&region=span-abc-region&WT.nav=span-abc-region

Earlier I said "angry white male" but perhaps that would be better said "angry country folk".  I will bet Brexit saw a similar dynamic with "remain" support concentrated around cities like London and Manchester.

Good! Us country folk have more guns and y'all city folk have boxed yerselves up real good fer easy pickins!

Yup. The remain support was in the cities, where all the ethnics and liberals live. Although Scotland, a notoriously xenophobic and independent bunch, mostly voted to keep the EU boot on their throats, too. Sometimes I think Scots do things just to prove people wrong.

"I take it you'll all be voting for freedom?"

"OH AYE? WEALL WATCH THASS YA CHUBBY BASSA!"

Huh? Why is that? If your insurance skyrockets and you don't feel you need it, it is a rational thing to do.

No,

Because once you are sick you go to the emergency room and have other people pick up the bill for you, and that bill is a lot higher than an original bill with a regular doctor would have been.

I'm not saying you go your whole life without insurance but many many people go for long stretches of their lives without having to go the emergency room.

Then there's small businesses that are getting screwed over  because they don't have the margins to both operate and provide health insurance.  Which is actually an economical growth retardant.

That stupid health insurance through employer scheme is actually doing the damage here. Who ever came up with that idea?

To all you Americans, who voted Trump in, I have a short, authentic anecdote.

Many years ago, my daughter, then 13, went with me to a party. A friend of mine who had too much to drink, decided to replay the "Thumb in the Mouth Scene" from Cape Fear. I have to say my daughter had a bit of a shock, but fortunately her teeth didn't go through the bone, and so his thumb could be saved.

Happy groping to all of you, in your beautiful country.

Exactly.

When you tell a bunch of normal people that they are racists, bigots, misogynists, rapists, islamophobes, homophobes, xenophobes, and every other insult under the sun because they dare to have a different opinion than you, eventually the normal people give the real bigots a giant FUCK YOU!

The latest in the pseudo-liberal excuses and insults being thrown about is that those racist voter ID laws got in the way of a Clinton win, so only the racists (anyone who has at least some money and happens to have white skin, that is) could really vote. According to them, black people are so poor and stupid, they can't go down to the DMV and get ID, so they're using those laws as an excuse to keep black people down. Plus, blacks are also all criminals and, since criminals can't vote, it's getting in the way of more Clinton votes.

And they call Trump voters the racists.

That's a major embarassment for the US lmao.

Shit, most countries you HAVE to have ID to begin with.  The billionaires and Kenny's family (KENNY'S VERY POOR! HE'S VERY POOR!) all have ID's, you don't show it, you don't vote... or buy booze...

Obamacare's a complete disaster, and we will all be better off once it's gone.  That said, the idea of a government run healthcare system does have it's merits, so the idea shouldn't be abandoned - the implementation doesn't need to blow more chunks than a drunk worshiping the Porcelain God.

Complete disaster for whom?  Who is this "we" in your "we will all be better off once it's gone?  You mean the 20+ million Americans who now have health coverage that didn't before?  The current program needs work, to be sure--and a lot of the problem is the actual health insurance companies themselves (gee, who would have thought that?), but it will cost billions--BILLIONS--to fully repeal the law.  And guess what, YOU will be paying for it.

Not having health insurance is just as stupid and irresponsible as not having car insurance.  You're not 16 (at least, I'm assuming).  Time to grow up and act like an adult.

Yes, I've gone years at at time not needing any type of health insurance coverage, but when the shit hit the fan--and it will for almost everyone at some point in their lives--I was thankful I had it.

You should do some research into the actual number of polling stations that were shut down (it's not just about voter ID laws) and which communities were directly affected, for starters.

Also, Trump's argument to the black community was that they "never had it worse than they do now" and "what else do you have to lose".  But sure, it was the liberals making the excuses and the insults.

1. Means absolutely nothing. As long as other polling stations are open, the chance to vote is still there. Unless, of course, the implication is that black people are too stupid to be able to get to a different polling station.

2. The first is a blatant attempt at massaging the victim complex of black people to win votes (something many politicians do, though Trump went overboard). The second is Trump saying they get nothing from Democrats, so why not vote Republican. Not even remotely connected to what I'd posted.

The way it works around here is you are assigned to a particular polling place, where they have a book with all the names for that polling station and copies of your signature in it and you have to sign in next to the entry for your name before you get your ballot.  I'm not sure what the process is to try to vote at another place but I don't think it's just a matter of walking in and voting the way they have it set up, there are probably hoops to jump through.  (Not disputing anything you said, btw, just telling what the process is here).

1. It actually means a lot.  What if the only available polling station for that community is now 80-100 miles away?  It makes a difference, whether you see it or not is irrelevant (i.e. perspective).  I'm not even going to comment on that last sentence.

2. Both are insults.

Ah I see. I was under the assumption that there were provisonals or something like that. Plus, the whole voting online thing. I often forget that while the voting process here in the UK might be extremely simple, the US ones might have state-based differences between them.
