gains do seem to come directly out of the regular 10 servers.  should also have some charts in the next couple of days reflecting that.

not much data but you can see the original sizable drop November 8 2018, as well as the 3 day outage due to server Migration March 6-9, 2019...  aside form the actual surge when servers came back online and the drop back to regular activity...  the Moria legacy launch does not initially seem to have had any significant new negative impact on the main 10 servers (just minor activity blips.)

will know by Thursday just how much actual numbers have increased, still a bit early to be sure...

It would be really sad to think a festival could be LotRO's saving grace. 😞

traditionally the Spring Festival bump has always been smaller than the Winter Festival bump.  they also have less consistency with firing the spring fest off at the same time each year, so i am sure that confuses some.  there have been a couple years where it launched in May & even once in June...

anyway gonna dump these graphics here as well...

also looks like the servers may have just come down for weekly maintenance...  maybe the Spring Festival will be active when they come back up?

Yep - festival went live this morning (US EDT or EST - whatever the hell we are using this week)

The morons at SSG have taken the Watcher and Turtle raids offline on the LSs to fix issues. They can't grasp that the issues have been in place since Helm's Deep.

The issues being locks resetting every other day? It seems to be every time I check my locks ,they've reset. I've already got a First Age weapon from quick runs into Watcher and Turtle. Or maybe it's the 1 point of damage that Watcher does with his shouts. Or how little damage the Turtle's bleed does.

but it is a good thing all those generic landscape mobs outside Bree back in the first 20 levels had actual damage, so players could learn how they wouldn't need to react for later instances...  or something.

but allegedly all these new combat calculations have sorted out some kind of meaningful leveling arch that is supposed to make sense...

on paper to what appears to be devs who don't actually play the game...   time to turn some more dials.

maybe with another dozen years, they'll eventually arrive at something that gels with the handful of people actually left playing the game.

Is the spring festival the one where you get an hour to run around picking flowers?

The graphs above were never clear to me if they are unique client log ons or character log ons. I always understood them as character log ons but have nothing to support this. What is clear is, these numbers are non-anon numbers. I always used them as a general reference taking note of average activity.

Yes - the spring festival is the flower one - lol

(I tend to just do the ale quests and convert for the leaves I need)

If everyone had half the morale, like when these raids were new that bleed might be something, especially on a prolonged fight as they ramped up. But with freedom to pick any gear and not be restricted to the radiance only gear then as well as having far more morale and mits you have far more damage potential so no chance for that mechanic of the fight to come into play.

Obviously the Watcher Bellow and reset was someone at SSG fumbling around without a clue.

Apparently, daring to run Watcher/Turtle in their current state is considered "exploiting bugs" to a few twats on the other forums, and we should all have our FAs taken back because it's not fair that they couldn't get to level cap before it got "fixed". Fucking toddlers throwing tantrums because someone else has shinies they don't, which has always been a problem in this game.

... Considering that the vast majority of Turtle LIs look like hot steaming garbage....  That's a problem?

Lotrostream: Druidsfire is making Jerry a kilt. Except with no sporran and pockets instead she's just made him a skirt. She is wearing the trousers ofc.

Oh the watcher is doing one damage, who'd have known that?

For the idiot American... what's the difference between a kilt and a skirt?

Well the first would have been worn in history by a blue face angry man with a claymore, according to the movies. You'd not question his gender self identification.

A true kilt would be yards and yards of a particular clan tartan cloth that as well as covering from waist to just below the knees would wrap around the torso and offer protection from the elements like a bivouac. Leather belts would keep the parts in place and the leather sporran to keep your chattels dry; flint and tinder.

However the skirt form of kilt in modern times seem to favour the brides of grooms with the merest hint of Scottish ancestry. Speculation is that it's the bride demonstrating to the groom's friends/ushers who is the boss now.

You couldn't pay me to watch her sowing stream to find out which she is making.

First off never tell a Scotsman to his face that he is wearing a skirt, if he is in full highland dress he is carrying a skean dhu, which is a small knife you wear and keep in you sock.

A kilt is a long piece of material, normally wool, that is wrapped around your waist and you wear a belt to keep it on.  Also it is normally pleated at the back.  A skirt is something that is tubular in shape and is not wrapped around.

A kilt is also surprising comfortable to wear

When it comes to modern ones, there isn't one.

While playing a new low level character there. I was sent an email from someone who claimed they had my password, and displayed it in the email. They seemed to want bit coins. Some kind of hacker seems to be messing with new players and keeping them off the servers.

In game mail? Did you send a ticket or have access to OFs to post? Do so in that case. Must get the info out quick if it's another data breach.

If you've received an email (as in to your email inbox, not your LotRO in-game messages, right?) with your password asking for bitcoins (often with an accompanying threat that they've been recording your webcam or saving your search history), it's likely just a generic scam email that's been going around. When a site that has your email address and password gets hacked, the list of every email address and password they have gets put up online and sold to other hackers looking to profit off it. They then take a shot that you use the same password for everything else and haven't changed it since the hack, and send the email addresses they have the associated password in the hopes it makes them look legit in their threats. It's all a bluff. You just change all your passwords and ignore the emails. The whole thing is designed to play on people's emotions and lack of experience with hackers. If that's what you mean, then it's likely nothing to do with LotRO.

Additionally

They will use your own email address in the sent by to further confuse you. Just delete and check your spam folder blocks any other mass mails that come along with this stuff. The assumption is that everyone has a webcam, that they jerk off to porn and are subscribers of Facadebook. If you must have the first two then delete the last one.

Of the remaining active players in my large kin on the LS, a large majority still play live, a big handful are those (myself included) who used to play, and a small, small percentage are actual new players. If my kin was an accurate representation of the server as a whole, about 80% were current players anyway, about 19% are old players giving it one last shot, and the remaining 1% are actually new players. To be generous to the SSG I'd guess maybe 15-20% of LS players are "new" money, money they would not be making without the LS.

My kin is fucking huge, 22 pages of characters, but I'd guess 19 of those pages are players that have not logged on since long before Moria dropped, so right there 80% of my kin which formed at launch doesnt play anymore

A lot of kins just started throwing out adverts and invites like it was going out of fashion the moment the LS started. I had to disable kinvites and put dozens of people on ignore for that shit. It makes sense that there'd be a lot of dead characters making up the numbers.
